Shaun did this delete today on my 2018 CC/SB 2500. Everything worked as advertised with one add ins for 2018's. There is a switch panel that mounted to frame for the 2017 you showed that the sensors connected into. On the 2018 it is mounted on top of the DPF so you'll have to remove the 4 screws and zip-tie it up and out of the way. She sounds great with a straight pipe, when I goose the throttle now she sounds alive! Thanks for the video.

Glad it worked out for you Bill. Yes, I did a 2018 too, and I used the frame ground spikes to just bolt that panel to the frame. Was a little tough to get at, but as you know, not a big deal. Enjoy!

Did you disconnect the batteries and let it sit for a while? If that works and no codes are set when you first turn Accessory power on it might work (dont start it). When you do the tune you don't want error codes. One other person did that and was able to tune and delete the truck successfully without an error code. It does delete the sensors for DEF levels and all other sensors related to the emissions; that's why this is for off road use only. 😀

@Shane Gunter Shane, get a muffler with your pipe delete kit. I made my own with a Flowmaster hushpower, and welded it up. You can set all parameters of your tune; so it will smoke as much or little as you choose. The standard tune only puffs when you first get on the throttle, and it is minor. No rolling coal necessary for great power and fuel economy. I've had another person comment that they had the exact same issue. Disconnect both batteries for half an hour. When connected, the first fire had no codes. Shut down quickly, and then tune on the very next ignition cycle. No codes ever came back on because all that garbage was shut off. If you full delete the egr cooler, get an intake elbow for a power gain. Otherwise it doesn't matter, you can just leave unplugged and remove the plunger.

One tuner can unlock up to four trucks. The tuner comes with only one VIN key. So, if a friend has the tuner all you need to purchase is a VIN key. His/her tuner can unlock your truck with the new VIN key you buy; tuner stays with your friend as you dont need it installed to run once the ECU is flashed.

Hey thanks so much for this video. I just deleted my truck via EZ Lynk. Took the DPF and SCR out and replaced with a 4in straight pipe, but left the EGR on (disabled but cables connected). Im getting some white ish smoke coming iut the exhaust at idle but goes away when im driving. I havent had any other issues, but do you think its becauze of the EGR still being connected even though its been disabled?

Hi Jerry, yes you leave the factory flex pipe and sensors in place. Unless you want to upgrade to a 5" exhaust system or other full exhaust....

Hi, decided to pull the trigger and delete my 2016. But I believe I erased the code to many times because now I erase it says its successful but as soon as you start the truck the dph light comes back on. So my question is right before I do the delete and I hook the programmer up and clear the code, as long as I don,t start the truck I should be able to complete the delete and be ok. ????

Hopefully the code was off before the delete was done. If not it can be a real pain. Did you disconnect both batteries after resetting code? Leave disconnected for a good 30 minutes. Then, connect and tune right away before starting of the light is off. Hope this helps!

It doesn’t hurt if you unplug it all it does is stop the flap in the throttle valve from moving when it gets air.there is a chance that it can be forced closed and get stuck when it’s plugged in

You will blow up your engine and possibly start your truck on fire doing that. The SCR and DPF internals will collect soot, and without a regen cycle to burn it off you'll regret that decision. The tuner doesn't care what exhaust you use, and will work regardless. Please don't do that unless you remove the internals of the OEM SCR and DPF systems (an insane amount of work), or for $100 get the straight pipe kit.

Is the programmer hooked up to internet or do you load it to it via a computer? The plug you plugged the unit into. Is it a blank or is it hooked up to something? The muffler. The two hoses you looped together. Are they mandatory for operation even after the delete or are you leaving it for, if you have to replace the set up? Are you leaving the EGR in the truck along with the DEF tank? If so, I assume for if you have to replace the set up? Thanks for the vid. I've got my truck on the lift at this moment after the filter is bad along with the DEF giving me problems on my 14 Dually. Plan is to shit can the existing exhaust system and do the delete. Waiting for the pipe to arrive tomorrow and then looking for someone with a tuner in my area to do the "additional pin" concept. Hoping, at least.

Morning! Make sure you disconnect the batteries for 20 min and connect to see if any exhaust codes clear. You don't want to tune with a code present, that's a mess! Tuner runs on a micro SD card. You update it via the internet with a USB to SD adapter that came with my kit. That's a real pain if you haven't dealt with unzipping the files. Under the hood plug I assume you're asking about? That has a factory blank end plug to keep dirt out. Pull it off to tune, and put it back on when finished. The exhaust loop is for pressure variances in the DPF. From experience some trucks if you remove that the truck throws a code and starts to lope like it had a big cam in it. It's sorta cool, but error codes aren't. The EGR removal is recommended, but that's a whole lot more work. I'm about to do one on one of mine, all others still just have the system disconnected and in place. The DEF is just sitting there wasting space and weight, never bothered with it since. Remember, this is for off road use only 😀

Oh, and when I'm towing my 5th wheel OFF ROAD going to be off road traveling for a few years, what HP increase would be safe? Did you do a cold air intake on yours? @@chrischapman276 I did a second video with a truck that has the Aisin, and have done a third truck with that transmission as well. Best transmission; haven't had a single issue with either. On that note, both trucks transmissions were overfilled from the factory and shifted better after the fluid change per the maintenance cycle.

Hi Brandon, you would need to know what tuner did the delete and that same tuner to read the programming. I haven't tried to read someone else's tune before, but the RaceMe Ultra is VIN specific. Personally I'd just do my own tune, then you have the programmer to read and trouble codes down the road and can change things to your liking. Good luck!

Just to clarify, I don't HAVE to ever remove the EGR cooler correct? If I don't then I do not have to complete a coolant re-route also correct? The coolant should continue to move throught the egr cooler even if it's unplugged?

I show how to disable and leave the EGR system in place. Before trusting anyone on the internet, study how the systems operate and evaluate if you agree with the process. I'll delete the cooler when I need to change the coolant, otherwise that's more work than needed to delete and flash the ECU.

@@jeremylocklear9118 I didn't delete any of the trucks EGR systems, just manually disabled them for safety. The tuner shuts them off, and unplugging them is a safety precaution. Since you have to drain the coolant, I save that physical removal till that service is due.

No, but the delete only with stock power tune was lean. The EGR does provide additional fuel recovery. The higher HP tunes make it run better and I use the standard 125 HP tune.

If it is deleted, unplug the two harnesses like shown, and start the truck. If no warning lights come on they flashed the ECU. Don't forget to remove the plunger (after you know it has been deleted). Recommend hard removal of EGR system if out of warranty...

What kind of battery charger do you suggest using? The website says use something that can support 14.3V, but all I can find is 12V chargers.

Last time I did one, one of the Rams batteries was failing. I used jumper wires and left the other vehicle idle providing a higher voltage during flash. He wanted to be extra sure the flash was perfect, so maybe you can do the same? I have just used a normal 12v charger with success. The nice part is the system tells you when you have low voltage detected.

When you do this all you need to keep with the second vehicle is the vin key and the wiring harness correct? Or do you have to transfer over the monitor as well(or do you just use the monitor in the second video to tune said vehicle then remove the monitor and keep the vin key in?)

Zacary, you remove the tuner and wiring. The tuner writes over the ECU, and it stays flashed. I have my tuner in my house if a problem arises, both trucks are running flashed without any of the equipment inside or plugged in.

@@raymondatkins991 hello. I used the RaceMe Ultra tuner, and a DPF/SCR delete pipe to tune the truck. I recommend a pipe with some sort of muffler, as it is crazy loud with just the straight pipe. You use the rest of the factory exhaust after removing the DPF systems. Just those two items and tour good to go off road :-)

Not quite sure what that means. The DEF system is disabled, but the tank is still full where it was left in the tank. You would have to do a custom tune if you wanted to keep the DEF injection, and also look into how safe it will be due to the soot build up with DPF. removed.

@@joshualash4708 a new Vin key makes the tuner unlocked, you pick any tune you want from the tuner from the variables: duration, fuel pressure, timing and turbo spool settings. It knows what VIN has what tune when plugged into the OBD. Once finished, unplug and plug back into his truck. When connected back to his OBD, it knows what truck and will monitor his truck again. 20014-2018 6.7L all have same tunes available.

Someone must own the tuner, you can get the VIN key alone if they help you delete another truck. You don't need a key if you buy a tuner yourself, it will delete one truck included in the purchase.

You need a straight pipe or pipe with muffler to replace the factory DPF and SCR in the exhaust. Thats is if you follow the directions and leave the EGR systems in place as shown. If you permanently mount the controller you'll need a rubber grommet for the firewall penatration point.

Take your phone and shoot a photo of the intake horn, on the side you can't see. That should help you get the proper connector. 🙂

Did you drain your diesel exhaust fluid? And if so how did you clean the tank? I'm going to be deleting mine in a few days once I get home and I haven't really found anything on how to clean them. I've heard it will crystallize if left in there?

There are I think 16 sensors, have to be more specific.

@@shaunvolkmann1904 recently did a delete now I smell and see small amounts of coolant. Is it just because when you delete egr coolant goes everywhere?

@@beyuwallace Alex, you should have no coolant whatsoever after the delete. The disconnection on the top left is for the servo controller. Yes that and the connection under the elbow on the right side stay disconnected. Did you pull the plunger out of the solenoid under the hood, making sure it was not extended (which would have left coolant valve open)?

@@shaunvolkmann1904 pretty sure i pulled something like that out to install the new coolant hose to go from the egr area to the motor. Coolant is under the engine on lines. When i disconnected the silver tin plug it said (exhaust pressure sensor-Its connected to a plug that has nothing to go into now I only plugged it cause after the delete the tin plug stayed. I flashed truck after unplugging and the code stays.

John, if you delete the emissions systems and disable the sensors it might be hard to get a pass from your friendly emissions officer.

Depends on the RPM's you maintain. Above 1900 it gets loud. My other video I installed a flowmaster pusher series muffler for my long trips.

Ok question, will this still pass emissions test? I’m serious. I kinda feel like that may be a stupid question I don’t intend for it to be. Also, did you keep it ready to go back to stock? The warranty would be voided right? I mean I would love to do this, if all I did was open up the exhaust and let it breathe and get rid of the egr, I don’t really care about all the extra power really, I mean mine has all the power I’ll ever need. I just want more efficiency and all that.

Well, after removing all the emission systems, and disabling the electronics that control them, there really is is no chance of passing an emissions test. This is for "offroad use only" ;-) I've had a few trucks in for warranty work now, and my dealership could care less about the delete. I show how to leave as much as possible in place so If you feel necessary to go back to stock, it is a simple process. Laws are in place to protect the consumers regarding warranty. Look up Magnuson Moss Act for your own edification.

So my friend has the tuner and is setup for his 17' 3500, I have a 14' 2500. Would it still work for my truck even though we have different transmissions?

Hi Phillip, if you get a VIN key for another vehicle yes. The tuner is VIN specific, so you can do a different tune with transmission settings than his truck.

One person does, but I have helped tune a few others for next to nothing. Use a forum, maybe another couple people near you also want to delete their truck. :-)

Look at my other video on this to get a better idea of what is happening here. You need a tuner to make it happen. The 5500 should not be an issue
