I too have two different brands. Metaltech from Home Depot and whatever brand Tractor Supply sells. It isn't listed on the frame. The Metaltech is my "second floor". It has a hatch in the platform. From the first level I squeeze the latch and the floor opens up so I can climb to the second floor inside the scaffold. Of course I have the outriggers which I didn't have my first year with my one level . When I bought the second set ( Metaltech) , then I bought the outriggers . Yeah they are expensive but so is a broken arm , leg or worse. Painting the end of my house this week, it being Sept 29 in New Hampshire . Yeah I feel safe. It does a little Rock and Roll. But I have it set up level on a little bit of an angle with boards for leveling. I am 73 as of last week. Don't think I'll need it the next time the house needs painting if you get my drift. Cheers to all who read this far.

You had it right the first time and did not realize it. When you got married, you signed everything you own over to the state and your wife. When she divorces you, the state will award your wife with everything. No matter who did what, the wife gets the cash and prizes. It sucks I know. If it happens never get married again unless you move somewhere the laws are more equal and fair to the husband. There is your life tip for making and sharing this video. It helped me out immensely.

I have the same set up. To make it more stable I add ratchet straps corner to corner on a diagonal. It takes the play right out of the structure! I also have regular construction scaffolding and it definitely is more stable cost 2-3 times more.

Do you use the straps per each level and on each side? As in 4 straps per level 2 crossing on each side? Or do you just use them from top to bottom on the entire structure? And last, where did you find where the best anchor points for the straps to attach to? Thanks in advance!!

I have a 24" high pole barn, when I work on the 23' high yard light I use 3 sections of staging. What I did , to make it more rigid was take two 2x's and clamp them to the sides of the staging and have them press tightly against the barn wall. This reduces movement and swaying. I like the strap idea, will also try that this spring.

I use two straps on one side for a double stack - works awesome, literally twice as stable with the straps.

I have a Harbor Freight Scaffold and saw they didn’t offer accessories so your wonderful video saved me lots of work and worry. I will go to Home Depot for the safety cage accessory even though I’ll only dare to go up 6 ft. I’m wondering if you can take rope and a spike on each wheel and secure the scaffolding, like pitching a tent then that would save the cost of the outliers. Can you tell me how the cage opens? I think I could get on the scaffold with my 8 ft step ladder inside of scaling the frame.

Depending on your work situation, if you turn the scaffold so it is oriented with the slope (that is, one end is up the slope the other is down with little, if any, sideways lean) you can then make the platform level moving one end of the horizontal bars up or down the vertical frame as needed. Note to do this you have to start with only one horizontal on the vertical frames. After that is level you can add the second horizontal, then the second level. Hope that makes sense. Using this approach you can work above stairways, etc.

@@RockhillfarmYT heading Anchorage Sunday to pick it all up. Can’t find the big out riggers to go three high. May just use lumber for extra bracing and tie it off to our building if we need more height. The leaving leg set will make things easy on unleveled ground which we will have a bunch of working on our exterior. May have to do a video of our own. Thanks again for the good info and review.

i do beleive the different Brands do have some differences but they are more in the area of Customer Service and / or manufacturing Levels of Quality Control for many years most Brands of Baker style Scaffolding have been compatible with each other fo interchangeability or assembly reasons i’m a retired Commercial Woodworking Installer that spent over 35 years in the Industry FYI some of todays More common brands are actually owned by the parent Companies of the large Retailers that distribute those brands often they also have a Intrest in the Factories that manufacture the products which is a very Common factor in the Tool Industtry these days it gives those Retailers the ability to market items they can retail. for the largest profits many of those products are manufactured outside the United States utilizing older Patents that are Expired or out of date and they don’t need to be paid for any longer reducing manufacturing Costs thanks for your Confirmation and Reveiws on the Scaffolding systems you reviewed using Scaffolding instead of Ladders is most definitely itely way safer for the Users plus it allows the Worker to to perform their tasks more efficiently ! i always reccomend the smaller folding Scaffold systems to most Honeowners to purchase for general maintenace and even to make household chores safer and faster (We used to call those systems Perry Scaffolds because that’s how they were marketed and branded originally ) now they have numerous brands like MetalTech , Werner ,and some others and appear to be built very similiar to each other
