That's a nice little unit, I may look into one of those myself for that price. I have a bigger one that I actually found in a trash years ago that I use to plug my fridge in for an hour here or if we lose power but it's just big and awkward, I would like a smaller portable one like that as well. I may look into that, thank you for reviewing it for us and have a great day my friend

I'd eventually like to get a bigger one for at home that I can plum in for when we loose power but for now this one will do. I like how portable it is a lot. Thank you Sir for watching and commenting!

Thanks for sharing bro! Harbor Freight has a nice Honda knock off also.
@SDSBBQs5 жыл бұрын
Yeah the cheapest one from HF is a little louder and less than this one. This one is also a little more powerful.

SDSBBQ good to know! I am in the market for one after a week of storms we dealt with this summer that kart knocking out the power for a day or 2. Need to be able to keep the freezers running!!
@SDSBBQs5 жыл бұрын
Yep... aside from the occasional onsite event I figured I'd be able to keep the essentials running when needed. I've dealt with no power at home for 5 days once before.

And another sound tip. Again when you have the time ( like you have to much empty time available) take a close look at all the nuts and bolts. They loosen up some on these little units and make a considerable amount of noise. Simple solution is to add teflon tape to these connectors. A little trick I discovered years ago when I ran a paintball shop at our local field. Also helps to cut down on electrolysis from dissimilar metals ( the nut and bolt ). Enough from me,I need to get to work.

Now this is a great tip! Thanks I'll do a quick not and bolt check at some point... lol of course when I find time!

1800 running watts is the perfect number. That's the max you can generally expect to pull through a standard household 15 amp outlet. So it should be able to run virtually any heavy device that a person could normally plug-in at home. I'm thinking of getting one myself just because of the reduced noise for night time use. My main generator is a 10kW beast but it roars like one too, it doesn't have a low-idle mode.

Hi Dash, That's a nice generator for what you need. starts easy too! not like my clunker. sounds fairly quiet for a generator. Hope you have good luck with it.

Thanks, I too hope all runs and works well with it.

It's sometimes hard to hear how quiet these actually are in these videos. I've started to look at these for my popup camper. I saw one at a track meet, running the timing booth. I was blown away at how quiet these are. That was the deal maker for me.
@SDSBBQs3 жыл бұрын
Indeed it is VERY hard to hear on camera. They are really quiet in person.

How has it done for you over time? Just ordered two of these and a paraell kit to combine their power. Your food looks GOOD!
@SDSBBQs6 ай бұрын
I have no complaints aside from when I overloaded it but it I had too many things plugged in on purpose to test the limits of the generator. I don't really run it all that often aside from about once a quarter to make sure it's good when and or if I need it.

Just an FYI at 1800 running watts your good for 14 amps

Well thank you Sir, for that clarification! Now I need to go and see how many Amps my pressure washer draws.

It's been 4 months now. Do you still use it a lot? How is it going. Thanks.
@SDSBBQs4 жыл бұрын
Not A Lot but I have used it a few times. Maybe 1/1.5 gallons of gas through it at this point. Still starts easily and runs with no issues.

Ahhh ,the infamous " rotisserie" episode. And yes I will note that wonderful grill has yet to receive her name yet. Come on now, she deserves better. One more thing, it's about last night's live. Damm that was fun. Ok, so now about the lil' generator. Like others have said it looks like a Honda knockoff. I'm thinking that's a good thing and here why. When you ever get the time check out the muffler on your unit and Honda's. The Honda rig is quieter and it could be as simple as swapping out mufflers, if you ever desire a bit less noise. I agree it wasn't to bad. Another way to help make it quieter, if you wish to do so,would be to build a box that goes over the generator with one end open. For soundproofing I'd recommend using a panel of foam board insulation. Easley cut to size, put together with duct tape ( what man passes up a opportunity to use duct tape ) is lightweight and not going to hurt the inside of your car while transporting it. Nice tool to add to the at site events. Have a great day, I'm getting back to work getting my place ready for Harry Soo. 👍🎣🎣🎣😁

LOL... yes "That" video... I know I haven't named it. I am reminded when I go into the garage and see it. I figure I need to use it once or twice more to get a sense of what it should be named. I haven't forgotten though. Yes... the live streams are usually a very good time and yes we just shoot the breeze just like you would if standing around a fire throwing back a few with friends/family. I will check out the muffler if the need arises. I have seen some some sound insulating boxes in the wild when visiting a food truck or mobile venders. Funny thing about duct tape we all have it around but it is never where you think you left it when you need it.
@victorbenner5395 жыл бұрын
@@SDSBBQs in truth for me it's finding the teflon tape. I buy them by the packs and seem to loose them just as fast. I blame the cat. Anyway, as you start looking at loose or potential loose nuts and bolts it just becomes a habit and it's AMAZING how much noises loose bolts make. Especially when they hold down sheetmetal panels, etc. Good luck.
