Get some Zip system tape. It's sticky and made to seal joints in plywood. There's different widths. That could seal the joints easily.

I would never buy a cheap home from China. You do not know what cheap material are used and what chemicals could be leaching out and you breathe that and get sick. Homes are a long term investment, I would not try to save a couple thousand buying from China.

Reminds me of the Chinese dry wall off-gassing of volatile chemicals issue in the US between 2000 - 2010. This was a real problem for us in South Florida because of temperature and humidity.
