Two words Graeme "just brilliant". Some of the bigger detailing channels should watch and take note on how to deliver an honest review with quality information and tips to help people understand some of the detail in getting the best from some of the products on the market instead of producing videos to please the manufacturer. Well done mate & thanks for taking the time to share👍

Thanks Martin!, like you I set out to review products to help others, I will stick with that philosophy as long as I am making videos on KZbin I’m not interested in being a single brand ambassador , a promoter or paid to make a positive review , nor am I interested in being the most popular at Waxstock . I’m glad you enjoyed the video mate, that’s really all that matters to me 🙏

I genuinely thought BSD would've Ione but I tend to apply it over the winter after every wash (circa weekly) which results in the snow foam even having a hard time clinging to the car😂. However given BSD can be a.pain to apply I may have to give one of your winners a go and enjoy the less frequent application reuiqrement. Thanks for taking the time to do such a long term test. Kevin
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thanks Kevin!, yeah BSD was a real surprise but it hasn’t prematurely failed, Sonax only give it around 3 months longevity which it achieved , remember you can dilute it 50:50 and use it as a drying aid after every wash and you’ll keep the protection going every wash 👌

Superb video and review, can imagine the hours of graft and dedication to bring this together. Some bigger channels need to up their game. I use Parla and enjoy it, but good to see it perform well amongst a wide range of products. Thanks Graeme

Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed it, yes keeping notes and film dates etc it is quite a task but it’s something I quite enjoy like the leather cleaning products mega test and the wheel shampoo one , massive amounts of data which I feel bigger channels should excel at but I do remember Forensic saying he’s not inclined to go to the effort of it all so much now as 4 or 5 other shorter videos would make him more money, that’s when a channel gets ruined like Paul Dolden’s , chasing money v what they started the channel for in the first place 😵💫

You "Hope the video was of some interest" . Seriously ?.... It was outstanding. An intelligent demo of products, running side by side in the real world. Best of all is we get to see the whole test in one video. I watch quite a few reviewers, and obviously the big boys too, but you outshined all of them with this video.

Yep, it's good stuff, lots of gloss and lasts ages but it's not a strong beader. I've noticed some of the supermarkets have dropped this in favour of cheaper products.

I use CarPlan No.1 Super Gloss (got it cheap at Wilko's before I got made redundant) and it goes on really well (light mist then buff) and beads well for 2 months and still sheets after 4 months. Because it's so easy to use (and cheap, I paid £6 for 500ml) I tend to apply it once a month. No serious reviews on it (as far as I can see) but B&M usually have it for £8-10 & Asda similar pricing. The best bit is the bottles can be re-used and the spray is brilliant (fine & even). Even use alloy wheel cleaner in them and they still work well. Sorry for the long winded reply and thank you Grahame for a fabulous review. Much appreciated 👌I'm subscribed now 👍

Hats of to you Graeme, very few (that I watch) offer up long term tests, kudos to you from me, if that means anything. I'm not the target audience for these products, I don't use them much at all but, it's still really interesting and from what I've seen there, Parla is a bit of a beast. Oddly, I have none of the stjarnagloss range, maybe something for 2024 🤔. Thanks for that content and, all the best 👍.

Thanks Lee!, it’s probably not to many people’s liking watching the same car being cleaned over and over seeing the protection fade , I got wrapped up in the excitement of which would last longest then started thinking of where it was on the car and how different places around the world would have different water hardness and I realised it’s all a complete waste of time 🥴 I just think it was interesting to see how each of them did with my routine and a few products really surprised me like the GB detailing hybrid QD I won’t be doing such long collective videos now , just ain’t worth it but thanks for watching and liking it 🙏

Great comparison, with interesting results! I started using Turtle Wax SnS this year and find it is a great product, so cheap and easy to use - I use it as a drying aid every 2nd or 3rd wash and it keeps on doing the job! Got two bottles so it will be a while before I try something else 😃

Having used 5 of those products myself I would find it hard to disagree with your findings on any of them, although I was a little disappointed with GB Glow 😕 I understand you not feeling any current desire to do this time of long-term test as it just takes up so much of your time and energy, just make videos that suit you mate 👍🏼 I'll definitely be watching them either way!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Thank you for this. These comparative updates are incredibly useful and appreciated. I use these type of products for door shuts, top up on side skirts, lights and wheels. Amazing how water runs off the boot with TW Hybrid solutions thus making drying easier and quicker. Looking forward to what you have lined up. For me, how about glass coatings? Cheers!
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thanks very much mate 👌🙏 Glass coatings are a thing I just don’t use at all, I hate the slightest of ghosting you get with them when the wipers are on, and I find these sealants are perfect on the side and rear glass for lasting month after month. But there’s always something to watch every month so hopefully you’ll find something of interest 🙏

Excellent video mate, and nice editing. 👍 Bsd is excellent but I have been using megs sio2 sealant recently, as I picked some up in Costco. My problem is I don’t get to wash the car as Much as I would like due to the Scottish weather, Boys playing football, and the wife doing shifts. 😔 The car is used to drive from balloch to the new hospital in govan every day, as well as football and Gym runs. A few days after washing I get the New York skyline of dirt up the side doors 😂 My sons fiesta hardly moves so that is still looks good between washing.

Great video again and I bet it's killed you not being able to test other products until this was over. Now time for the idiot of the week question, which is better sheeting or beading?? I've heard and read different people say different things like if it's hydrophobic it should sheet and not bead then others say look at the beads X product produces its so hydrophobic. Confucius says 🤷🤷🤷, look forward to your answer and your views on the subject.
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul, the answer lies in your head, if you like beads, get the most hydrophobic product you can get and keep it well topped up. Beads can be lovely to look at but they also have to be able to run off, so slickness is another aspect of a product that has to be good. If it rains and beads form, they can actually become little magnifying glasses for the sun and intensify uv damage to paint , etching water spots into the paint , the whole world of car paint protection is a total mind blow, you wax and it’s beading., can lead to water spots , you don’t wax and the sun damages your clear coat anyway , you really can’t win either way , which is why a ceramic coating is possibly the best solution as manufacturers have looked at this and created ceramic layers , a hard layer first for protection, then a top layer for customers to oohh and ahhh over by beading , this wears over time to provide sheeting and a longer ‘keep clean’ look to your paint , it really does depend on which kind of weather you have to help decide which will be best for you
@paulquickmire4140 Жыл бұрын
So basically there's no right or wrong answer then. I get similar weather to you mostly drizzle and rain 🤣🤣. Thanks for the indepth answer though, I know I can always trust your views and opinions to help me decide what path I wish to take. Thank you 👍👍
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
@@paulquickmire4140 no mate, to my knowledge there hasn’t been a product otber than ceramic that’s been designed to have less beads & more sheeting , but there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing all the water flowing off the bonnet after a rainy day 😅
