Great to see a full video with applications and updates 👏🏼 Tip to coat the barrels with a sealant if you’re not removing wheels I take the mini wheel woolly dry and clean to help spread it around then wrap a plush cloth around it to buff off. Can’t beat a full on coating though can you with regular wet coat top ups.

Great tip Nick but I doubt that would work with that Monstershine one 🥴 Yes a 2 yr ceramic is the ultimate easy clean and I suppose you might extent that life with regular spray n rinse protection

Thanks for that. Really appreciate the updates all included in one video, especially where lsp's and longevity are concerned. I think we use way more aggressive chemicals on wheels than bodywork, so lsp's don't really stand a chance. So reapplying these every few months is definitely the way to go. I use TW hybrid solutions ceramic spray in much the same way. My new favourite product is Autoglanz Foam Booster. Added to BH Autowash, it makes an excellent wheel shampoo! Thanks again!

Cheers mate!, oh I think you’re the first person to say they’ve used the foam booster, it might make Dooka wheels a better product too 😅

@@GMDetails I'm 99.999% certain it's just SLES with the world's biggest mark-up! Marketing spiel like 'high foaming surfactants' = extra dollop of sles. It's done wonders for a few products with the real acid test coming shortly..... BH Touch-on. What an unpleasant user experience that stuff gives. Anything that says on the bottle 'low suds' or 'low foaming' - yeah, we'll see about that!!!!!

Lovely gloss on your wheels. Wish the wife's cars gloss black alloys were that shiny. Think the previous owner used a brillo pad on them. They need a full polish to get them back.

Great video Graeme! Excellent long term testing with loads of information, exactly what i want to see in a comparison video. Both look like very worthwhile while products if you cant be bothered going through the process of applying a ceramic, i do like the spray on rinse off method you mentioned,.
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate!, I’d still go the ceramic route as it’s not just leaving a hydrophobic layer behind to repel water and help with dirt, it’s leaving a very thin coating offering better protection but it’s not for everyone , at least there’s a few different options around now 👍
@SparkleanAutos Жыл бұрын
Absolutely cracking video... Monstershine one looks like a bit of a handful to remove! This also proves that you dont HAVE to use a ceramic coating for protection, applying products like the Detail Kitchen or Wowos one every couple of months wull still make maintenance cleaning much easier 👍🏼 Brilliant editing as always Graeme 👌🏼👍🏼
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark!, exactly that!, a ceramic coating might help difficult to reach parts be protected for longer but the way these new products are developing is certainly making it easier and giving consumers more of a choice, I think it’s brilliant how the enthusiast is being encouraged by small uk brands to have a more of a choice in how far they want to take their hobby, something the larger brands like Auto Glym and Meguiars don’t really follow, until they see the trend turning 🤔

What a cracking video, thanks for dripping this and for the time you dedicated to it. My wheels are sh*t they were damaged when i bought the car and I have to confess, I'm terrible at clipping them, so for now they just get a spritz of Hydro2 or alien magic Aqua with every wash. But once refurbished, l intend to do something a little more robust, probably not a ceramic, so this mught be the way to go. All the best Graeme 👍.
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Lee!, Hydro2 is one of the best I’ve used yet, it won my very first sealant test a few years ago now. There’s now def loads of options to keeping wheels protected without a ceramic coating , and sometimes a ceramic done wrong can ruin a set of alloys too if it’s not applied correctly , I’d def look at the detail kitchen strawberries & gleam as a one for all round protect and maintain 👍

Another good watch. The WoWo's looked good. I used to use their products when I could pick them up at Port Glasgow and I normally got a hefty discount but I never tried that product as I usually use waxes. My products of choice for wheels at the moment are Gyeon Wet Coat or Mitchell & King Armour.
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thanks John, Gyeon wet coat is brilliant!!, I’ve still to get on with the Mitchell & King review just not had the weather and these tests prevent using different products , I’ll finish up the spray sealants test as that’s now been 5 months so that’s long enough to see what the good, the bad and the ugly are 😅

It's been a difficult year for detailing being so wet or too hot for outdoor work. I had big plans to rotate my waxes on the cars but didn't really get a chance. Maybe Autumn will be kinder to us.@@GMDetails

Thanks so much for this video,its encouraging to see such a peformance from sealants. We just came back from a roadtrip 4000km long , on which i used collinite 476s as a protection on the wheel faces - it hold pretty well, but was a magnet for a brake dust. I will test it against wowo CS this winter, I am curious how it works ends 😊
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thank you !, wow that’s some crazy miles there!, what’s surprised me the most is how many people actually already use some form of protection other than ceramic, will certainly be interesting to see which works out better Collinite or Wowo’s 👌
@paulquickmire2379 Жыл бұрын
Great video again mate 👍, those wheels looked great when you'd finished 🔥🔥😎😎. I agree that ceramic coatings are the best but taking the wheels off every other month is time consuming especially with family/home life, so this approach would suit people like myself who only get the one day a week to clean the whole car (inside & out). I use Garage Therapy products in a similar way, Qd every other week and Sigma every other month, sadly they don't have any spray & rinse products which would help with time constraints. Maybe time to add another product to the collection 🤔. Can't wait for the next video on the ceramic wheel coatings 🎥🎬🌭🍦🍿🍺🍺

Thanks Paul, hopefully GT will break through the spray n rinse barrier soon to add to the range , some really good ones out there like Gyeon wet coat which is designed to top ceramic coatings 🤔 The ceramic coating I have in mind IS GT, heard lots of good things about it so hopefully get to film that soon 👌

Great video. I’ve used EZs Wheel Armour and while it gives an initial gloss look to my black alloys it’s not got longevity. I like the look of the Wowos
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Wowo’s is certainly the better of the two here on test in my opinion. I’ve yet to try them both on paint but if you’re looking for something to last , it’s certainly a good start. Best prices are probably going to be on Black Friday deals, last year they went all out with 50% discount 😳

Really good video, County have a 50% off all Autoglanz at the moment so I stocked up on rebound, microfibre wash and as a coincidence some shield wheel sealant so ill be giving that a go to see how it lasts. I've recently started using a clean bucket of water with the wheel wash stage as I like the idea of pre rinsing brushes etc before going into the wheel shampoo bucket, a 4 bucket wash now!. Thanks for the video.

@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thank you 😃 is wheel armour a spray and rinse off type or application method? How long would you expect it to last and does it make your cleaning routine any better? 👍
@Richard_Details Жыл бұрын
It can be used as a spray and rinse or spray and wipe. Only get around 2-3 weeks results to be honest but Ford brake dust is pretty harsh stuff (not to mention the Welsh weather)
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
@@Richard_Details if it gets you between washes and helps to block out the worst of the brake dust then it’s a decent product. Not to mention if you’re spraying and rinsing it’s protecting other areas too!, thanks for the product info 👍

I've 3CS on my ex wife's car . I've not washed it in a while but I would use a top up rinse aid like AD Top Gloss and did get a fair few months from it . I've offered to clean it soon as it's currently in rally mode looks wise since I'm not there to clean it but personally I always used a rinse aid do hard to see how long it's really lasted. My own car alloys need a refurb so maybe something I should attempt with all the ceramic type products I own on those
