Cheap Vs Expensive Hi-Hats

The Meinl hats DID have a lower quality sound than the others IMO. They sound cheap, even mic'd. But the other 3 were close in quality.

I have the cheap meinl, the 802s, ziljian A, and nickle zildjian that are really bright but they sound fine when recorded. Other thing is when you get older, especially if you played in bands..your hearing goes to shit. My mixes are all lopsided..left ear is about 80% and right is 66%..thank the guitarist who would never turn the amp down lol

Hearing loss is defintely a thing among musicians of a certain age. Especially in the higher end of the frequency spectrum.
