Danny reviews a cheap yet useful watch you can get a lot of historical and utilitarian value out of with the Vostok Komandirskie submariner's watch.

This watch looks great! It's actually the same one worn by Willem Dafoe's character Klaus in The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. I would like to get one for myself

Very cool! My recommendation is to get a third party leather strap or metal strap for it. I either wear mine with the stainless steel jubilee bracelet or a mesh bracelet.

Sorry mate, I appreciate your pro Ukraine comments but I just can't bring myself to wear my Vostock watches. I threw my two in the bin in protest.

A month before the fucking war I bought an Amphibia. The watch is splendid. But yes, hard to put it on - my wife is from Ukraine and I am German.

Very brave of you, Tony. Proud of you for throwing away two perfectly good watches you already spent money on!

I bought about 8 of these watches from the Ukraine just 2 months before the shit hit the fan And I support the Ukraine sellers. A few weeks ago I was in Latvia to finds out myself what the situation at the border there is. We sent a lot of aid to the Ukraine. Civil and Militairy. I also went to Russia a few times years back and have friends there. My view is to throw away good watches is a stupid thing to do, it has noting to do with the actions of Putin, the war and will not change anything. Also a bit hypocrite to hear this from an American. So when are you going to move out of the USA and give the land back to the original Americans who live there from before we started counting time. American history is also filled with wars and bloodshed maybe even more wars since white man occupied it then the Russians started. Let's name a few .. Korea, Vietnam, Gulf war, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Panama, Iraq, Somalia. Sent an apology to the civilians in those countries whoes loved ones got wiped away by American bombs in a war they did not ask for. And cruelties done by American military as in Iraq. They just enter the history books as collateral damage. Seems Americans do everything in a war like manner, the war on poverty, the war on drugs, the war on terror, to name a few, all those wars do not seem to go well either. . The Russian people are also a victim of the actions of Putin and his rich group of thieves there are a few who stand up but they get mowed down fast, poisoned and/or jailed. TV is state owned and full of pro Putin propaganda. The west is hypocrite with tough words but still buying Russian gas and oil. And since prices have risen they make more money then before but selling less. Europe is afraid to take a stance. Isolate Russia and every country who sympathises with Russia and be ready that this might evolve in a world war. So be it. We let this happen. Ukraine was already political minefield many in government are corrupt and now with the Russian invasion the civilians getting bombed, raped and killed and lose everything they have. After Russia you can start throwing away your stuff that you own that is made in China, because they are a greater danger then Russia is, but that is my view. They might not start a war but they just buy the world and run you out of business by unfaire practice and then we are all slaves to China. We have to start producing our own goods again and pay a fare price for it. And stop letting China steal our technology then mass produce it and sell it back to us.
