CHEAPEST, EASIEST, QUICKEST DIY LIVING WALL REARRANGEMENT+ ADVANTAGES OF BUILDING VERTICAL GARDENS

In this video, Pinoy Plantito makes a rearrangement of a DIY vertical garden/living wall/green wall which he also considers to be the cheapest, least expensive and fastest to make. Along the way he also talks about the advantages of building living walls in dead spots or barren spaces in your garden. This $20/45 minute to finish vertical garden is located in the hottest and brightest spot in his garden considered to be too harsh for plants to thrive utilizing sun loving, tough tropical plants and using only mesh wires and mesh baskets as materials. The video was intended to make vertical gardens doable and affordable for everyone who wishes to build one but has too harsh environment, limited space and/or with only limited budget only. The simple fix/rearrangement seeks to transform the space into a living space adding a sense of balance and harmony in the landscape gardening design.

At first, I did not see your reason to change your perfectly beautiful vertical garden. After you changed it I totally got your decision to change your composition, perspective and design. The second recomposition IS better. The further cascading vertical garden extensions on each side of the breeze blocks are really interesting too. I like your adaptable wire basket system, where you can move the composition around as desired . Overall this composition will be much easier to reach to water and tweak to your hearts content. Well done again!

I really liked this. You just hung those plants along that wire backing . I think I can find something similar in my hardware store. My plants , by the way, are far more expensive . I made 2 pots for my patio ledge with 4 small starter plants in each , and it was $200.

Hi. Totally new to your channel. I commend you on how so lush your plants are. Remembering growing up in the Philippines, both of my Lolas grew plants. That’s how the plant bug started. Moved to Ohio, U.S. in my teens. I do have plants that I grow outdoor that are cold hardy and it isn’t very easy to grow tropical plants indoor. It’s a struggle. Temperatures and the humidity fluctuates so much…..and the lighting as well. I do have humidifier and grow lights for my indoor plants. So, anyway….. I am envious on how your plants looks. Have you seen the vertical garden of SM Megamall in Edsa Mandaluyong and another building in Shaw Bvld? They use plants with green, yellow green, and purple colored leaves, and they made a "pattern".

Let me recall...i used pepperomia scandens, pepperomia serpens, variegated dracaena, white butyerfly syngonium, repens, devils backbone, tradescantia, snake plants, pink fittonia, bromeliads, variegated schaffleria, dark begonia, mayana, variegated boston fern , lemon lime philodendron etc..

Water normally dont get inside because its almost plain wall. I water them on the pots opening since not so high.

I think the same plant mentioned here will do. I was thinking the heat from the roof may be too harsh for medium light plants so I will suggest to use the same varieties of plants I used here.
