I bought the PTM-22 last July and was pretty happy with it at first. After a few months we started getting more dropouts with one of the units. Support was great and they sent a replacement pack with no questions asked. That seemed to do the trick for a few months but dropouts started getting more frequent again. With several gigs booked in the next few weeks I started getting frustrated/anxious and decided we needed to just upgrade for reliability purposes. I agree with everything on this video, out of the box I had all the same thoughts. The longevity of the product seems to be why the price is so low. I should add here that working with their support team was easy but it does take a little bit of time. I'm assuming they are somewhere in India or China so when you email support you don't get a response until late in the evening so going back and forth took a few days before I got my replacement. If I were to buy again I think I would have gone with the PTM-10 instead of the PTM-22 and just bought multiple units for close to the same price. We finally had a budget for Sennheiser IEM units so went that route and have had absolutely no complaints. Those things seem indestructible. Gotta say, just found your channel and absolutely love all your content! I look forward to more videos in the future!

Thanks for the comment! And that’s interesting… my singer uses this system and it still works great. But you are correct, cheaper stuff is cheaper for a reason. The PTM 10 is better overall in my opinion so it might be worth getting! But yes, the Phenyx Pro support is always great 🤘 I think they do cheap stuff really well!

Hi Scott.. Could you please tell me if this system is suitable for transmitting signal wirelessly to a satellite speaker at small to medium size events? I am looking for a cost effective, reliable way to run fill speakers at events without running miles of XLR cable. Love your channel and have been binge watching your videos on wireless gear. Any help or advice you could give would be greatly appreciated... Thank you for all the awesome content!!!

I guess you technically could, but that might not be the best way to do it. I do it with these cheap ones if I don’t go far: WIRELESS XLR System w/ PHANTOM POWER! I address that pretty heavily in the video haha. This is not the stereo one, but the PTM10 is the stereo one. You can see my video on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnuvkK1_Z8mliLM

@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks for both videos. So, for PTM-11, left and right channels will be mixed at the transmitter and send as 1 single channel? (Both left and right ear-piece will have the same sound?)

Do you find mono to be better for performance? Or is that a compromise you accept for price?

I perform in mono more than I do stereo even with higher priced stuff personally. Stereo is nice, but mono is much easier and more affordable

Hey, do you have to press the power button on the transmitter every time power is lost? I would be placing this in a church where power is only turned on for services, etc. What about the ptm-10? I noticed it has a power button on its transmitter as well.
@ScottUhlMusic3 жыл бұрын
You could just unplug and kill the power if you want. Then next time you turn it on it turns on 👍
@Albion123453 жыл бұрын
@@ScottUhlMusic so if you unplug it while it’s on and plug it back in, it automatically comes back on? Does the PTM-10 work the same way? I was thinking I read a comment about one of them where someone said you have to push the button each time. But they might have been some other product.

Do the headphones that come with it protect your hearing?
@ScottUhlMusic2 жыл бұрын
That’s kind of an odd question because it depends on how loud you put them lol. In ears are supposed to be better for your hearing though since it’s sending the sound directly to your ears so you don’t need as much volume from a wedge for example. Again, if you turn the receiver volume up to 11, that negates the purpose haha. But the best headphones to get are custom molds because those fit your ears exactly since they are catered to your ears specifically. That isolates the sound on the stage and allows you to just hear the IEM mix. But these earbuds are a great starting spot since custom molds are expensive and you have to go to an audiologist to set it up

Trying to decide between the ptm-33 and the cad glxiem 4 I need 4 separate mixes . Anyone have a preference between the cad and phenyx?
@ScottUhlMusic Жыл бұрын
I just got the ptm33 and it’s quite amazing for the price. I like that one, just keep in mind it’s still a cheaper system with limited frequencies. More frequencies = more reliability, but the ptm33 is an incredible deal

If you space them out at least 6ft away from each other that will help. The BIGGEST mistake I see is people going “oh awesome! These are so cheap, I can get 4-5+ of them” and that’s not how cheap wireless works. I would watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpjaammojpmHd8U
