i really enjoyed you sharing your knowledge about japan especially during the era when the camera came out. it gives context to the origin of the camera. I am also a foreign resident in Japan for more than 10 years now, but I don't know much about the history. Thank you for another enjoyable content.

We owned one of these back in the 70s, here in Australia. I passed it on to my wife and when she upgraded I carried it in my truck (under the seat) for those times when a photo opportunity would present itself out on the road. It was a tough little camera that took excellent photos. I let my primary school students use it when I was teaching photography. Sadly, and many years later, I forgot it was still in my truck when it was finally towed away.

Hi, interesting video and great camera, I have had it for many years and I can say that the lens on it is great, it produces wonderful photos 🙂 You forgot to say that this wonderful camera has exposure lock, when you press the shutter button halfway it "locks" light meter needle, so you can measure light in any part of the scene, recompose and shoot 🙂

Hello! I have a question about this, i just recently purchased this little guy and at first i thought it had a problem but then i finally got batteries and put some tin foil to seal the gap and now it seems to be working fine. But my question is: is the needle only supposed to move when i press or half press the shutter button? Because in my case, if i just point the camera at a source of light, the needle is either dead (in the red area) or wiggles really fast but it does seem to lock (when i half press) or moves up to a certain spot (when i take a picture so when i full press) then drops again. Is this how the camera's meter supposed to work or there's something wrong? Thank you for any help!

I got this camera recently from my granddad and I had no idea how to properly handle it since I know basically nothing about cameras, this really helped me

14 years! That is a long time. But it’s weird to think I was already alive and kicking in Tokyo when you flew in! You have more knowledge of cameras and history… but I guess I beat you in seniority? Love the videos.

The stories from the people who used this camera, not the exact people but the demographic and period, were by far my favourite part of the video. And im a camera nerd.
