I have found using flavored cashews and chopping them up works great when added to couscous or chickpea salads. ATM I like the Thai or curry flavored ones. Adds texture and taste and protein to the mix.

Thank you Rose. I made the couscous salad for my non-vegan family tonight and they loved it! Just my Dad had to have some sausages on the side (he's a real meat and potatoes kinda guy). But these meal preps really help me keep on track and I really appreciate the new ideas. You're my favourite vegan! lols TC

Made the couscous salad for lunch right after I watched this! So good. Thank you. Had everything on hand. I used edamame and subbed the oil for some of the artichoke can juice. Roasted broccoli and cauliflower. I also find chopping therapeutic. 😀

Couscous is super good with Ras El Hanout or Baharat spice blend, some onion, chickpeas, olive oil, lemon juice, and a bunch of other stuff I forget lol. The middle eastern spices are really a perfect vibe for the middle eastern pasta :) Edit: I think I add sauteed or roasted carrots, I think the roasted red peppers would be great. Kalamata olives even though those are Greek. Fresh parsley if you have it would be amazing.

I love the idea of putting roasted red peppers and artichoke hearts into the salad. I have both on hand, plus in this case, I have some soaked bulgur wheat for the salad base. You can prep it the same way -- pour boiling water over it, you just should wait 30 mins at least for it to absorb the water. Keeps for a long time in the fridge, so it's also great for meal prep. I will also do this with couscous, as I love that as a salad base, too. Thanks for always being so inspiring!

Awesome video Rose!!! Thank you for the new ideas! I'm excited! You work so hard getting videos and recipes, and I really appreciate you! I've never tried the fried egg before and I have everything for it without having to go shop for it. The toilet flushing cracked me up, my son is moving into an apartment this weekend for the first time and we talked about the sounds they might here, and being on a middle floor, that's one sound in sure they will hear! ❤

Everything looks so yummy. Can't wait to try. I like to keep the dressing separate if I'm prepping. Not only helps the salad hold up, but also let's you vary your salad/dressing ratio. Some days I like more, some days less.

cutting pro tip: be sure to tuck your index finger in instead of extending it out on the blade! grip the base of the blade with your index and thumb - almost as if you’re pinching it. it’s less strain on the fingers and overall more comfortable. my finger always aches watching you cut. 😅

I really hate to be THAT guy, but I just really don't want to see you hurt yourself. When you're cutting with your chef knife, it's really not a good idea to have your index finger on the spine of the blade. Look at the "pinch grip", instead. It's much more comfortable, you still have good control of the blade because you have a high grip, and you don't risk your finger slipping off and coming underneath the blade. But I do have to say, this was a really great video. I'm really looking forward to trying out some of these recipes. Especially, that "egg" recipe. That's genius. Okay, back to binge-watching your videos.
