If mock meats didn't exist.... I don't think I would've became a vegetarian so easily. Been off meat for, I think a decade now. Thanks to mock meats mostly. And protein powder has been a HUGE savior many times as well, its so versatile. I love pretty much anything vegan or vegetarian. But not giving up my mock meats or protein powder for anything 😄

Just make sure to frequently check your uric acid levels, protein powder from plant sources tends to increase it, you might increase your risk of getting gout.

@@le3336 Im vegan, im just saying that there are certain vegetables that are high in purine, which results in high uric acid levels. I used to drink HUEL, a food replacement and its protein source had high levels of purine. I never had any symptoms of gout from it, because a vegan diet reduces inflammatory factors and HUEL has a lot of Vitamin C. Its generally reccommended for any human to regularly check their blood nutrient levels. Meat Eaters have a much higher risk of getting gout, thats for sure.

I love your videos! I learn recipes, but more importantly I've learned different techniques, where to be lazy vs where it pays to put in extra effort, and how to mix and match ingredients into meals throughout the day. You're the reason I was able to go vegan almost 2 years ago. Thank you for everything you do ❤️

I sent a friend to you that is Korean and Vegan... They eat quite a bit of mock meat which is so high in sodium and way too much fat. Tropical fats. They are having high blood pressure issues. This is a very good example for them. There are very good cook. They grew up with an Italian father so they ate Italian food. So this was kind of almost speaking to my friend directly. The only thing is they have to have low sodium. So they will have to adjust it accordingly. Thank you Rose. I adore this person that I met. And I want them to be healthy! I believe high blood pressure even though hereditary is controllable because I've seen it. I sent them to you because I thought they might relate just a little bit to your flare that you add when you go Korean cooking. Again thank you so much and wish me luck with this person I like them more than they like me haha figures. I guess I needed to be a bleach blonde. And 20 even though they're not. XO Rose you're so beautiful and I love what you do.

Interesting video and I loved the recipe ideas! Though I just wanted to say that buying tofu, tempeh and high-protein pasta every day (or every other day if we adjust for portion control) is, unfortunately, still unaffordable for the average person in my area (UK).
@Charlotte-ti2yk
@Charlotte-ti2yk Жыл бұрын
High protein pasta is probably a no in the UK, I agree. But tofu is okay, no? I buy it in my normal supermarket and I don’t think it’s more expensive that meat. I also buy vegetarian sausages; the high protein ones made with soy beans and are delicious! I buy tempeh in bulk, from Better Nature online, and just keep it in the freezer. Again, I don’t think it’s any more expensive than meat would be. Or am I seriously out of touch? 😳
@foxxxyg
@foxxxyg Жыл бұрын
@@Charlotte-ti2yk I think it depends on your area. I live in the US and I have lived in lots of places. When I've lived in cities tofu is super cheap (like $2 a brick) and I go through 4 bricks a week. When I've lived in farming towns tofu is super expensive. At a Kroger, tofu is $4-6 a brick in some places while ground meat can be $3/lb or less.
@Charlotte-ti2yk
@Charlotte-ti2yk Жыл бұрын
@@foxxxyg that sounds about right. A block of tofu is about £2 here (Scotland), but I know in some parts of a England food is more expensive, so that makes absolute sense. I think that’s still cheaper than meat though… it’s been so long since I bought meat I can’t even remember! 🙈 I like to mix with lentils or beans as well so I guess that makes the tofu or tempeh go even further…
@namzterin14

Tofu is so cheap where I live (Kentucky, USA). I can get a block of organic tofu for $2 and buy it frequently as my main way of getting protein. I’m surprised to hear tofu is expensive for you. And when it goes on sale I can buy in bulk and freeze extra! Also, do you guys have Costco? It could be worth investing in a membership because I get SO much plant protein there. They have really good priced veggie chicken, burgers, and other vegan staples

Love your channel but if you're going to call a sauce Bolognese, you are better off making a real Bolognese start, without meat, and storing it for later use, rather than any jar bought sauce. It cooks for a few hours and is cheaper in the long run and healthier since you know what's in it. I know 'lazy' is in the name but one pot of sauce can last a while.in the freezer.
