Honestly? If Twin Galaxies had pushed for the trial the first time, they'd not be having this issue now. Yes, it would've been expensive, but this is not, not even slightly, out of character for Billy Bitchell, or anything that should have been unexpected. Twin Galaxies is still stating that they believe Billy is a cheater, and Billy is still banned, and Billy won't let that go. Twin Galaxies can't reinstate his records on the true leaderboard or unban Billy if they want to maintain any credibility, and Billy has made this too much a part of his life to stop until they do. They'll be at odds until Twin Galaxies forces him in front of a judge and gets him legally shut down and shut up. I always think, *if* he's that good and Twin Galaxies somehow banned him for the wrong reasons, there's a lot he could still do. Making contents about retro gaming, doing long plays and retro game playthroughs, joining retro game events / podcasts, do a retro gaming travel series to Japan (he does have the money if the piling lawsuits are any indications), just to name a few. Plenty of people succeeded without even having a shot at breaking a world record. Literally, anything is better than this.

Honestly, I forgot about him until this video popped up. When I think cheater, I think about when Dream had to be disproven by countless mathematical experts, admitted to cheating, and people (mostly children) still follow them regardless. Mitchell's case is an odd one. Despite the overwhelming evidence against him and his records, he still refuses to accept that maybe his records were illegitimate. It's one thing to cheat and blatantly lie about it, but dedicating years of your life to a legal battle to uphold the lie is something else. If they're this petty in video games, I can't imagine what his personality is like.

I think Billy may legitimately have thought that "official historical database" might have been the actual main leaderboards. He's clearly not legally very intelligent & didn't realise that the exact language of the legal statement matters and historical database =/= main leaderboards until after the settlement. That's the only reason I can imagine he'd bring those questions to TG. He probably knows the courts will just throw this in the bin so he's using another court case (with Jobst) as an "in" that the legal system can entertain. If he doesn't bring Karl into this he almost certainly hits a legal brick wall and they say "you settled and got what you asked for, go away".
