I put my laptop on a height like maybe on top of 1 or 2 big books, tilt it upwards enough for ur neck to be shown. I just use my phone right under the camera. I also recommend testing it out by recording yourself and seeing how normal it looks if you do.

THE SOFTWARE CAN ALSO SEE THE REFLECTION ON YOUR EYES. this honorlock shit is crazy. i don’t even wear glasses and it detected the reflection of my phone. i got flagged on my exam and i had a meeting with my professor. he told me that it flagged me because it detected another screen. i cheated on that bih. my phone was against the laptop screen. my professor didn’t have any proof that i was using my phone so he just passed me on the exam. make sure y’all turn down your brightness when you have your phone against the screen. also keep looking up at the questions on the laptop screen. honorlock will flag u.

honorlock can get on ur ass real quick. don’t be paying attention to your phone against the screen too much or it will count it as suspicious behavior. i have been flagged for that so please take this advice. depending on your professor he/she will make a big deal out of getting flagged on exams. my professor was strict asf so.

Can Proctorio know if you're using your phone when its connected to the same WIFI as the laptop you're making the exam from? Because since your housemates/family members use that same WIFI too, how are they ever gonna know that you're using that phone especially for cheating? Because it seems unlikely to me that a proctor software can access your router and see which devices are connected to the ip address.

They can't. They're not allowed to monitor any devices aside from the one you're testing on. If they could, that would allow them access to any device on your network (your friends/family)

They do not monitor your phone. They can't. That's illegal. Even if you were forced to consent to it, they wouldn't be able to differentiate between your phone and someone else who is living in your home/connected to your wifi.

Good question. I don't think so. They mention if you use 2 devices on the same wifi they can catch you but I doubt it. Many have used wifi without any issues.
