Keep em up. I like every video you have done so far. I have even found an old operator manual for those series of trucks that I have been looking through.

Keen eye! Used the tape to block license plate and ended up leaving on the bumper. Found it later. New, the duck tape makes a good cup holder too.

I think you'd have to make it. Mine is pretty heavy duty and not one you can get at Harbor Freight for sure. I'm certain it's custom built at Fort Hood long ago.

give me your opinion about those trucks, i myself own a 86 c10 as a dd, but i want something with 4 wheel drive, and something as a long distance cruser, lve looked into these cucv's as a possable cannidate, give me your opinion please and thankyou. and i love your truck, i love ole square bodies.

The only hesitation I would consider is for using it as long distance cruiser with the low gears. The RPM's are pretty high at 65mph, but taller tires can help some. I would drive my truck for a long trip, but make sure to not be in any hurry to get there. Mine is a daily driver but I don't have to go freeway speeds for more than about 30 minutes at a time.

Conner Pierrard I seem to get about 15-17MPG. From what I've read, the 6.2 diesel is a very good engine. There are still things I need to repair/replace on mine due to the age.

Conner Pierrard highest gear offering in the CUCV M1008 for the GM 14 bolt rear end was 3.73. The front end being a Dana 60 will also allow you to run 3.73 to keep the engine speed down for highway use above 65. These trucks came with 4.56 gears to keep them to around 55mph and to give them whatever get up an go with a low power fuel economy the 6.2L had. Actually at least in HMMV they had 165hp and 330lb/ft at 2100rpm. These 6.2L IDI GM diesels like to be around 1800-2200 RPM which is near its sweet spot for torque and fuel economy.
