Hi Rachelle! I work as a postpartum RN and hospitals as a whole are restricting visitors. It obviously can vary widely by hospital. Our hospital, for the Women’s and Children’s departments, are allowing one support person at the bedside during labor and after the baby is born (so during your postpartum stay). So your doula wouldn’t be allowed, but Justin would be. Our goal obviously is to make sure everyone is safe and limit exposure to bugs as much as possible. You can ask now, but honestly things are changing so rapidly! You can also wait and ask what your hospital’s policy is right before, so you know what to expect going in. I’m hoping for a safe, wonderful delivery for you and babies ❤️

I wasn't able to have children....but is it possible that rachelles doula could be present via Facebook or Skype as a support person? She could instruct Justin on what to do and talk Rachelle through labor? Just an idea.

Lindsee Gwerder My hospital was allowing Doulas in addition to a support person until they started allowing no one at all, because they are hired medical personnel recognized by ACOG. I think it varies by hospital. Definitely ask!

My very best friend informed me that her hospital that she’s delivery out isn’t even allowing visitors in the waiting room. I’m sad that I won’t be able to meet my bff’s newborn but I understand we gotta keep everyone safe

It’s just the physical person in the rooms that would become an issue. Some hospitals do have rules regarding recording and what not, so always great to ask the bedside nurse what the specific hospital policy is.

Well at least you're getting the time to finally decorate the house all up without having to wait for Justin to have time and Emma is getting all of that quality time she needs with you BOTH before babies come and you can take turns being with her individually while the other rests even though you're stuck at home!

I’m a horse back rider and have been since I was 5! I love it so much❤️ when Emma gets older she might love and benefit to some horse back riding lessons. In my opinion western is best. When I had my son, my husband was ill and in Isolation, two floors down, in the same hospital. My best friend came with me and took video, so as soon as he was born, she took it down to him. We were also on the phone intermittently. He was listening as I was pushing and when he came out. I know how hard it would be if Justin couldn’t be there. But, you WILL get through it. You are an incredibly strong young woman and we all have faith in you.

Hey!!! I wanted to tell y’all my dog would do the same thing get so excited & he would be gaging because he was so excited. Praying for you. If you haven’t already I suggest trying to get diapers, wipes, formula, food, stuff like that from amazon even if there’s a long wait. It can’t hurt to have some extra in case you literally can’t leave the house for a while & extras you could always share with friends or family or donate later.

Hi guys!! I’m a maternity nurse. My hospital has no visitors for the rest of the hospital but L&D and postpartum patients can have one!! Justin would be that of course. Grandparents and everyone else will have to wait until you get home but I know Justin will be allowed. It seems like the whole country is agreeing on that from what I hear from the hospital. My mom is a labor and delivery/NICU nurse at our local hospital and she said they are only allowing one person to be with mom during labor and delivery and then a few hours after birth no visitors are allowed at all, so spouse/partner has to leave :( I really hope things get better by the time the twins arrive!! Thinking about you guys! Stay safe!!

My daughter is supposed to be having her baby girl on April 13th (scheduled C-section). She's terrified! That's a couple days after they are saying the "surge" is supposed to hit. It takes me back to when I was pregnant with my twins! (they are gonna be 25 on Thursday!) I had them at 34 weeks and I felt like I was 40+ weeks pregnant, when my water broke with them. Baby A was also breach, so I knew when I went to the hospital that I would be having a c-section. I'll keep you in my prayers, that everything turns out okay for you guys and that y'all can be together, when your special day arrives. You have such a beautiful family and I love your updates! Keeping my fingers crossed that you have no more kidney stone pain, between now and when those babies are born!

At the hospital in WI where my Daughter delivered 2 weeks ago, they are now limiting only one other person along with Mama in L/D. I'm so grateful that baby Karlie was born then so that both Dad and I were able to be there. I hope your kidney stones aren't acting up these days, Rachelle.
