Barry's main problem has always just been effort. Man showed up to a pasta skill battle with no timer and spent most it reclining on a couch watching KZbin. He's pretty good when he wants to try. The issue comes when the timer starts or he has to follow instructions from someone who isn't kush XD

Too Good to Go is too unreliable. Some days you can sign up for 5 different places and get nothing in the end. You're better off just having a random person make a random purchase so that you at least know you'll have anything to work with. Ask Atomic Shrimp.

@@craftiebrownive been quite regularly getting to good to go's for a couple of years now, ive only had one cancelled once. I have never heard anyone else having such disappointing experiences. I might have been very lucky, but i think having 5 of them cancelled in the same day is extremely unlucky Of course the contents vary, and some definitely haven't been great, but that would be part of the challenge.

One of the big takeaways I've had ever since Kush started appearing on camera is that the blender is your best friend and good use of a food processor can let you make anything "more cheffy" without a ton of effort.

Kush is so encouraging and attentive as a teacher but also very precise. And you can see Barry brought his A game today, determined to earn Kush's stamp of approval and he got it, in spades! I love that while Kush can be bluntly critical but also be generous with his appreciation. Kush is known for bringing the chaos but in these food forward videos, he just slips so naturally into the role of a teacher, just happy to share and encourage learning. And Barry, famous for being an 'out-of-the box' thinker matched beautifully with Kush's maverick ideas! What a delight to watch! Kudos, as always, to the Sorted Team! ❤

I think the thing I like the most about this channel, and this particular challenge, is getting a glimpse into the mind of a chef. How someone can take literally dozens of ingredients they're not accustomed to putting together and yet in the end the dish looks like something that should be on a menu somewhere. Absolutely bloody brilliant. The teacher-student vibe was great too. Thanks fellas.

The difference between Barry being in the kitchen with Kush, compared to being in there with Ben, is amazing. With Kush he actually seems to learn things, and seems to feel a sense of pride and reward for what he is doing. When he's with Ben, he's pretty much just mucking around and not paying full attention. Kush really has been an amazing addition to this channel.

@@TheSeatedView I think it's also that Barry has known Ben for well over 20 years, long before he was ever a chef, and Ben is in that family/friend you've known forever category where you're not really trying to impress them so much and you're not necessarily going to listen to them so much whereas Kush was a professional chef with a lot of experience when they hired him so there's naturally a bit more of a desire to impress him.

Kush and Barry is a terrific combo! 🎉 Kush thinks and acts soo fast and is always ad libbing his dishes on the go. Barry is the one Normal who genuinely does have the skills tb his sous chef. It was soo great to see them vibing along and enjoying themselves. We weren't so distracted by pranks that we couldn't remembered the food they made. Which is just as well because Kush is so inventive and with Barry's helpful input, had some great tips. ❤️👌

God I love the duo of chef+Sous-chef *actually* working in the kitchen as chef and sous-chef. Barry enabling Kush to focus on what to do and assisting with ideas and prep was oddly nice to watch. Would be awesome to see a normal+chef thing doing an waaay over-engineered dish in time that would be impossible on your own, normal prepping for the chef to cook.

Love this format, the normal cooking alongside the chef. This one was especially good in my opinion, because I've felt there was tension between these two, maybe because Kush knows what it takes to become a sous chef in the restaurant world, and Barry was sort of gifted that title (no offense, Barry; I know you worked through that whole year of challenges to earn it) in comparison. Yeah, so thought this was a great episode.
