I made this last night. It turned out pretty good. I used about a pound of Murasaki sweet potatoes from Trader Joe’s, a couple golden potatoes, a 12oz bag of frozen cauliflower florets, a 10.5oz bag of riced cauliflower, a couple onions...the rest pretty much as in the recipe, but I don’t have Benson’s Table Tasty, but some other brand/type of salt-free seasoning mix (it’s a bit too much black pepper, tho). I used my stovetop pressure cooker, because that’s what I have. (How can I justify buying an Instant Pot when I have a stovetop pressure cooker that works fine?) I like the no chopping! Just cook and blend! 👍. Thanks Chef AJ!

It wasn't just you. I was surprised to see that there weren't other comments about the spice. I began to think I used the wrong measuring spoon. It was way too spicy for my meat eating husband and son. I love spice but could have definitely decreased it so now I have a huge pot which I will have to eat myself. Will be going in the freezer. If I make it again, no more than 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. max.

Okay, admittedly, I thought this would be "meh" but was SO intrigued by the HUGE sizes of the cauliflower, sweet potatoes, ONION that I just had to try it. I watched both episodes of this recipe from your shows, and do like this version better. I did use the Chipoltle powder (might have used more like 3/4 teaspoon) and used low salt veg broth instead of water, but otherwise followed it to a "T". Wow, wow, wow! What flavor! My husband (who is a big meat eater) even loved it. I can see adding this to a weekly meal plan (although it will last two weeks, there is so much!). Thank you for your great recipes!!

I put this on to cook (in a large saucepan because I don't have an instant pot) while I ate my oatmeal and berries. It didn't take long and when I blended it I had to have a taste of course and, WoW was that a big mistake - I couldn't stop "tasting" . . . Not such a great idea immediately after oatmeal. hahaha It fantastic. . . I feel like a whole new world has opened to me now as I can picture all the veggies that this will go with. Thanks AJ xo by the way, I didn't use nutritional yeast or mustard as I don't eat them.

Our bodies NEED salt. In fact salt is so vital to our brains and bodies that it was once more valuable then gold and why 2,000 years ago, they used to say someone was important or valuable by saying that "they are worth their salt". Our blood is salty like the ocean because it's how our brains talk to our cells. What we don't need is 'table salt'. The reason why doctors tell people to 'avoid salt' is because table salt, like Morton's salt is 8-13% sand. So it's like tiny shards of glass* are traveling through our veins and arteries, causing small cuts. Nature's Band-Aid outside of our bodies are blisters and calluses; inside our veins are bodies create plaque from cholesterol. We do NOT want blockages of plaque in our veins/arteries. That is why early vegetarians and health nuts began to use 'sea salt'. But now that our oceans are so toxic - most use (pink) Himalayan salt now. However, 100+ years ago, an iodine deficiency in our diet caused goiters, so our government started putting iodine in our salt so the entire country would have the trace mineral they needed. So Americans are not only missing the 54 minerals we need and used to get from our soil - but we're not getting a regular iodine dose we need. So taking a kept pill once a day is better than trying to get it from the kelp/seaweed we are supposed to eat. The government only requires farmers put 3 minerals back into the soil - which is why fertilizer is one of the many reason we're going insane from being mineral deficient for decades now. Those shards of salt glass going through our veins leads to heart disease and high blood pressure and blocks in our arteries, the same reason high blood sugar creates shards of glass going through our veins too. Which is why both lead to heart disease as our body creates plaque to patch the cuts in our veins. Salt is not the enemy, the primary source most American's use for salt is what caused the problem(s).

Unfortified nutritional yeast? Why?
@ajdamronfamily5 жыл бұрын
Goblins 👺👺👺
@ajdamronfamily5 жыл бұрын
There are two types of nutritional yeast - unfortified and fortified. Unfortified: This type does not contain any added vitamins or minerals. It only contains the vitamins and minerals that are naturally produced by the yeast cells as they grow. Fortified: This type contains synthetic vitamins added during the manufacturing process to boost nutrient content. If vitamins have been added to the yeast, they will be included in the ingredients list.
