I have had this dish at my uncle's place in my childhood. I didn't know this is a Bihari dish. I thought it originates from Bangladesh. That whole garlic is something straight out of heaven. Won't forget the taste ever!

Love to try this dish Sunday..I grew up in a neighbourhood of majority of Bihari people..there was an old lady's food stall..Sunday special was dalpuri (not deep fried rather shallow fried like paratha) stuffed with chana daal ..combo with any seasonal sabji and a spcial imli/ginger +green chilli liquidy chatni...aha..now I live abroad , miss that dish and my childhood days 😢..that old lady is no more nor my old neighbours know that recipe ..miss terribly

Hello Ranbeer sir, There is a different recipe for Bihari style chicken curry which I learnt from my father. 1. Chicken marinating with salt, black pepper, turmeric, red chilli powder, jeera powder and half spoon mustard oil 2. Onion chopping vertically 3. Make thick paste of Garlic, ginger and green chilli in okhi 4. Heat the kadhayi, add mustard oil, once mustard oil heats, add garam masala (whole), ginger garlic thick paste, and two whole garlic ( we can skip it during summer) stir it for half minute, then add chopped onion, fry it for 2-4 minutes only and then add marinated chicken. Note: chicken should be fried with onion on low to medium flame with covered lid for at least half an hour till the water of chicken started getting dry. 5. Now add some warm water little little for 3 to 4 times and cook chicken for another half an hour. Also, add one chopped tomato and little garam masala powder in between and cook well. 6. Afterwards, add half spoon of garam masala powder once chicken gets cooked and garnish it with green coriander leaves. Bihari style chicken curry is ready. Most important point is that we cook everythin- chicken, onion, ginger garlic, green chilli together, not separately.
