I mean, to be fair, he kept asking 'Why?' and trying to understand, but that wasn't the brief. Barry just had to listen and do, but he refused to unless Kush gave him a whole explanation, but then he couldn't remember all the steps. The only way Kush could get him to stop overthinking and actually working on the dish was to overload him, and even still he kept resisting DOING anything he didn't understand. Incredible they got anything on the plate, really.

Makes me kind of hesitant about the Masterclasses Kush teaches. I feel like Ebbers would be very comforting and effective, and Kush would yell at me and make me feel like a fool while really not being good at giving instructions. Conversely, he could be a good teacher, but deliberately messing with Barry, which just seems cruel. I've seen videos where Kush comes out looking like a nice person and a good source of information -- and then I've seen ones like this. Edit: Watched to the end -- Kush deliberately tried to break Barry with the yelling and the bad instructions because he apparently wanted him to feel like a real sous chef in an abusive restaurant setting, for . . . reasons.

Spoilers for the vid, of course, but I love how Ben took Jay on a walk through a lush meadow, and had a lovely evening glass of wine as they watched the sunset through clear skies, and then Kush dragged Barry through a tumultuous carnival ride from Hell all while lambasting him for (mainly) things out of his own control!😂 I really enjoyed the music switching back and forth for them as well! Really added to the dichotomy of kitchen happenings.

I love the energy difference between the two teams. Jamie and Ben are two buddies hanging out, with one cooking because the other is too tired.
