Hi Taku I made this for dinner tonight, what an absolute winner of a dish! Soooo tasty, the combination of the minced beef, fluffy potatoes and super crunchy panko was really wonderful. The shredded cabbage and mayo also a perfect match. Your instructions and explanations are incredibly informative and easy to follow. I can't wait to try another dish from you.

Fond memories of these. When I arrived in Japan on a work & travel visa this was the first thing I ate. Arrived on a scorching 105°F/41°C day with 90% humidity, dragging 100 pounds of luggage through Tokyo to pick up the keys to my room. Arrived 2 hours later after getting confused by the subway map, turned on the AC and collapsed in front of it. Woke up 4 hours later from strange music outside and went to explore. Turns out I arrived during Awa Odori, and bought 2 of these croquettes from a street vendor. After that torturous day they were the most delicious thing ever.

Like most fried stuff, these can be made in bulk and can freeze really well. Easy to pop in, preferably in a toaster oven to maintain a crispy exterior, for a quick snack or as a side dish.

May I ask? What is panko? It's a common bread and put it in the blender and taadaaa! It's panko?
@CHEFSLABO3 жыл бұрын
Panko is a Japanese word means breadcrumbs. But in overseas, It's understood as coarse grind breadcrumbs. They both normally made of white bread, and just blitz and boooom!! 👍
