My abuela use to make with Eggs, Bacalao or Eggplant Parm. It was horrible. But 2 weeks ago I went to a Dominican restaurant and Eggplant Stew is the best way to eat it. I like my Berejena Guisada with Big Chunks. I don't mash it, I prefer texture. It's just like Pollo Guisado. I love Berejena Guisada! Owwwwww!

I just followed this recipe and im dead serious, its amazing.. im eating it right now just after following you.. im having it with white rice, yuca & plátano.. AND i added 5 garlic cloves to one big berenjena 🍆 and it tastes soooo sooo good & the xtra lime as u mentioned that u & ur mom add more so i did the same and im loving it.. 👍🏼🤣😋 thank u so much for your recipes love them ♥️😘

Just stumbled on this recipe. Back in the late 80s my spanish friend would make this for me by the Tupperware bowl full with white rice and I would eat every bit of it and nobody had not better ask me for any of it (not sharing- selfish, I know). I haven't found anyone who could make it taste the way hers did. Now I can attempt to try it for myself. Wish me luck😀

Your videos always come in clutch!!! My husband is super Dominican and isn’t use to American food. I’ve made berenjena guisada so many times but I never knew to get that texture you mashed it, I thought if I cooked it more it would do it self and I never got the results I wanted and my husband would hate it that way. You got it. In my newer videos (2019 and after) I omit the use of sopita and adobo in 90% of my recipes in exchange for kosher salt instead. I find it keeps the sodium low, takes out the MSG out but doesn’t sacrifice on flavor. This is a video and recipe that I need to update. Thank you so much for watching!

I grew up eating this but my grandma would put the eggplant on the stove and burn the skin. Unfortunately I have an electric stove so this recipe literally was perfect. I made it last night and it was amazing!!! I wish I could post a picture. I think maybe the adobo AND the cubito is a little to much salt but than again I only made one. Thumbs up to you this was an amazing recipe

The salty water helps soften up the eggplant. The water is discarded and the eggplant is rinsed with clean water before cooking it
