I’ve been a personal trainer, for over 15 years… I am 52, going on 53, am a mom, and a new grandma! .. my clients are always looking for the quick fix… I try to tell them, they have the tools they need, right in their belt, or in their head, they just need to apply them… yes, it’s about applying habits, and also consistency… and being accountable to yourself… keeping a journal, is also helpful in keeping yourself accountable and honest..👍🤗🙏❤️love your videos!..👍🤗❤️❤️

Great video! This is stuff I can actually do. Also, don't sleep on frozen veggies because they are nutritionally the same or better than fresh and they make life so easy. I've been buying frozen broccoli and green beans and it's such a timesaver.

Wow this is SOOO GOOD! I’ve been going back and forth on what I should do for my eating habits like intermittent fasting and only eating raw foods, but eating a potato daily sounds like a luxury and I will for sure implement this! Last night I charged my phone downstairs and didn’t scroll for an hour+ and instead went to the gym and did a walk. On my walk I told myself “ok, you did a marathon a few months ago, you can run 1/2 a mile”. It was small but I have really fallen off the wagon so that small 1/2 mile is a start! Going to stick to small goals as we close out 2024 and head into 2025 because I can really set unrealistic goals for myself and get overwhelmed. Not this year! I’m going to build trust and respect for myself. Thanks for this video!!

Hands down best video I have watched. This is so realistic and actionable. I am sharing with all of my peeps! Also, I have learned that when you cook a potato, refrigerate it, and then reheat it later, it turns into a resistant starch, which has all kinds of benefits. Just another great reason to consider batch cooking them. 😊

I follow your advices and I took action last march 2024. I lost 10 kg and gained muscles 💪 Potatoes are the best and I run with my polar application and watch who tell me what to do everydays (today is mobility for exemple and I got a vidéo to follow in the app). The mat is always ready in a room dedicated and easy to access because I know I need that. My running shoes are close to the front door as a reminder. And I go 3 times/week. The social obligations are where its so hard. I married into an arab family and dinners and cooking and serving food to others is a HUGE social obligation and happens so often. Its seen as rude to refuse the food or be picky about whats on the plate. Even saying "im full" after 1 plate is not accepted and youll have someone - sometimes not even the host - taking your plate and piling it back up with food. Most of the recipes include some form of meat or yogurt and lots of oil 😅 this will be probably the most difficult challenge of changing my eating habits

I am going to get some potatoes and hummus from the grocery store tomorrow to bake ahead of time and have more regularly. I recently tried using hummus instead of butter or Greek yogurt for my baked potatoes and I found it so delicious!
@luluandmeowКүн бұрын
You don't need yoghurt or hummus, try baking the potatoes without anything in the oven or air fryer, just add a bit of (coarse) salt and you're good to go. Both hummus and yoghurt are processed and moreish.

@ your right I don’t need it but I prefer having something with my potatoes. If some sort of sauce, dip, cream, glaze, etc. helps me eat more of a vegetable that I otherwise might not have as much of completely plain. I use it.

I've found that "component" bowls with a variety of food no longer work for me because everything has calories and variety makes you eat more, as many studies have shown. I've decided to stick to a 3-ingredient plate instead, e.g. potatos/kabocha squash and two veggies as I need to lose weight. I think this is what Chef AJ and Healthy Emmie eat too. Re: gyms, they're so depressing and you don't need them, start by following a good workout video, start small with stretching exercises, there are several good ones on YT which you can do at home, you only need a yoga mat and some weights.
@tinajernigan1728Күн бұрын
I think a variety of foods can happen in a week long period. It doesn’t have to happen all in one meal. I think you have the right idea. Do what is right for your body.

People don’t want to sacrifice to lose those extra pounds. It cost something to eat five years into the future and store that in one’s body. We are not storage containers but we treat our body like one. Sacrificing some kinds of foods should be expected.

I hope this is ok to ask, I don’t mean any offence. For someone who eats meat, is there ANY way you can swap out meat (chicken/fish) for the tofu in your meals?
@stargazerbird14 сағат бұрын
As long at is not fatty meat or fish it works just fine. Tofu is relatively high fat compared to skinless chicken breast and also lower protein. Prawns are brilliant for high protein as well. Even lean beef is good. Just avoid lamb and oily fish and the fattier cuts of beef and the chicken skin and thighs.

I want to do this , how can I get my stomach to tolerate vegetables?
@hannaschrader12247 сағат бұрын
Without knowing whether you've got preexisting health conditions I guess you just have to get used to them. Try eating small quantities first, maybe begin with mildly processed veggies (steamed for example), don't overuse on spices, mix veggies with foods you're used to. Aaaand don't get underwhelmed by the process, increasing the quantities of vegetables slowly is always going to be better than not eating any at all.

I so agree about taters. Potatoes are my favourite food and this morning for breakfast (my main meal), I had sweet potato, homemade potato salad, nutmeat rolls and mega avo salad. Totally yum and proper food combining plus nutmeat is really high in vege protein.

I know it’s controversial here because it’s a vegan channel but you can do the same approach using lean protein like chicken breast and lower fat dairy and prawns and white fish. Instead of tofu and beans. Just a thought as there is a much bigger audience that really could learn from healthy vegans.
@sweet-tee6 сағат бұрын
There is plenty of non vegan weight loss channels on YT you could post this on but yet here you are trying to make eating dead animal flesh relevant when its really not hence why they weren't mentioned in her video.

I'm vegan (I'm a lot younger tho but my health has never been great and it's falling back in place..) and I get around 140 grams of protein a day.. (mostly from whole foods but I don't avoid protein powders..)
@tinajernigan1728Күн бұрын
That extra protein is really hard on your kidneys. You need protein, but like anything else, too much is bad for you. 😊
@serenityjewelКүн бұрын
@tinajernigan1728 Older people need to eat more protein because the body's ability to utilize the protein we eat decreases as we age. A 50 year old body isn't as efficient as a 25 year old body.
