17:18 Yes, technically a failure on his part. He was warned ahead of time that the bombs were going to be dropped and the world would end. He hastily built an army of the most advanced security robots huge money and vast influence could get him. But an issue rose up. The place that could make a really advanced software for the robots was really far away from his base in Las Vegas. He was able to built the robot army with basic controls, and the software update that unlocked the better warfare were both completed. However, he was just a tad late. Before the software could be delivered, he ran out of time and the bombs dropped. He had *intended* for the chip to reach him asap, but it just didnt happen and he ended up having to wait a really long time, until eventually a courier service was able to get a hold of the chip and send a certain protagonist to deliver it.
@patbracken2 ай бұрын
It gets worse. House had anti-missile defenses in place that caught most of the nukes heading for the Vegas area. The chip would have also upgraded their targeting, possibly letting Vegas get through the Great War unscathed. But it was a day late...
@ABSolution24682 ай бұрын
To clarify a few things: -House was not warned ahead of time. He ran several projects to basically map out humanity's future and they all reached the same conclusion: Mutual Destruction. -The Platinum chip only contained the OS House created. The factory in Sunnyvale, California was in charge of printing the Chip. The Chip is a PCB (printed circuit board) designed by House himself and could only be read by any terminals that he designated (There are 3 such terminals in FONV: His terminal in his Casino, the terminal in the weather station and the terminal inside Hover Dam). -The chip was delivered the morning of the nuclear holocaust. It was only found after House woke up from his coma and poured an entire fortune into prospecting for it, which he found and ordered to be shipped to him. -The courier we played as was 1 out of 6 couriers tasked with shipping 6 items. We just so happened to have the chip.

@ABSolution2468 I'm curious about that first point. And first, apologies as it's been forever since I last played so I'm real fuzzy here. Is it known if this is retconned? From what I've heard, the show is canon to the story, and House was shown to be party to Vault Tec's ideas. Did he find out on his own and barter his way to their inner circle? Am I wrong about it being labeled canon? Edit: I'll quickly specify that I do remember he doesn't end up going along with VT and E. He does his own thing. I'm just wondering how he got *to* that meeting.
@MrHitmancheg2 ай бұрын
@@tasbard8545 at no point in the game was it implied that House was privy to or complicit in some scheme to kickstart the nuclear apocalypse. He was simply smart enough to see the very obvious writings on the wall and prepared as much as he could to preserve his own slice of america.
@passingrando64572 ай бұрын
That's... Almost entirely wrong, actually. House _wasn't_ forewarned, he predicted the Great War over 15 years before it happened, and spent the vast majority of that time either personally inventing or paying others to develop the technologies he would need to recreate civilization after the end. The securitron development wasn't hasty, nor based on his wealth and influence; he designed several aspects of them himself, in particular programming both the prototype and final OS. I believe it was stated somewhere that he also personally designed their self-repair systems, but don't quote me on that one. The 200 year delay wasn't because he was waiting for it to pop up. He was in a coma for most of that due to system overloads, and sent out mercenaries to prospect for it shortly after he woke up and established contact with groups capable of doing so.

A nice thing that Badger didn't go into because of Runtime is that all 4 DLC are not only connected with each other in a progressing story, but are also canon to the main game. In order of events, it goes 1. Honest Hearts: a job protecting a trade caravan going to Zion Valley goes awry and you join up with the Burned Man himself to save the native tribes of Dead Horses and Sorrows from an invading Salt Lake tribe called White Legs. 2. Old World Blues: a bunch of sentient brains in flying jars kidnapped you and surgically removed yoir brain, heart and spine and help them out in this gigantic crater of a research facility to get said organs back and leave (this one is my 2nd favorite of the bunch) 3. Dead Money: a manic Father Elijah of the Brotherhood of Steel captures you and four other people, strap bomb collars on all of you, and have you run through the Sierra Madre Casino and Resort to break into the living graveyard and get the treasure underneath. (This is my no.1) 4. Lonesome Road: a figure from your past draws you into the Divide, a disease ridden nuclear hellscape (especially compared to the actual nuclear hellscape you regularly traverse in), so that he can finally kill you for a past sin that costed BOTH OF YOU a home town and made the Divide what it is now. And when you play it all in this order, it manages to merge seamlessly. Mostly, if you play to find everything, including random documents and audio logs. It is a great game, despite how bad the bugs can get. For that, I can not recommend the Unofficial Patch enough. Barring that, there are modders trying to remake New Vegas in a FO4 mod.

It isn't just one big "charisma" check, but you actually need to know what you are talking about. You want to convince a guy to supply you with TNT? You need a high enough skill in explosives. But with new vegas if you are going to fail the skill check then you can say some hilariously stupid things. Like telling someone you know how to disarm landmines by trying to pick them up very slowly.

Every stat has extremely good benefits when max, but you have to sacrifice a few others like he did. You can beat the game with high enough charisma and never having to fight. Max intelligence can get you pass so many places and special science weapons. So there's really no bad stats, but it's recommended to at least max 1 stat out and focus on that playstyle.

So, two things: Thing 1: The Mysterious Stranger has been a regular occurance in the franchise since the beginning, and has several theories surrounding his existance. Some players believe he is an eldritchian being, others think he may be a time traveller. The gun Badger got is suppossedly one that belonged to the Stranger, as it gives off the same musical cues that occur when he shows up and leaves during VATS combat. And in Fallout 4, it turns characters other than the player have noticed him, as there is a detective that you can recruit that has been hunting the Stranger, and will take note of when he appears. Thing 2: In New Vegas, there is a neat little sidequest, involving bottlecaps marked with a blue star, that lead to an interesting story about a rival company to the in universe soda giant, Nuka Cola. The story for the rival company is told through various bits and bobs you find throughout a certain location, including a rusty, old robot.

I took yes man's deal, left house alive and removed both the NCR and Caesar's Legion. Funnily enough the group which was absorbed into the NCR because of the Legion was a good group who only defended the towns of the region from mutants and raiders. They were the "original" owners of the Mohave before House woke up when people were fighting over the power source he relied on. NCR and Legion destroyed a town beside the dam and both want the dam, the NCR probably to power their homes and the Legion to deactivate it, they are Neo-Luddites if that wasn't clear. NCR need a business partner they have to adhere to, they are pretty corrupt and badly run and need a reason to shape up but the Legion ain't it, those bunch of crazies will just strip the world of the last bit of knowledge it has held on to and what they desperately need is someone to make more G.e.c.k.s (Garden of Eden Creation Kits) and not some lunatics likely to destroy and they find which could be reverse engineered. My thought process is that if I was in charge of a region I would probably be pretty beneficial to the people and the future, while house was also positive in that he defended the whole city from the Nukes, he has clearly gone a bit crazy from isolation so I would keep him around as a Advisor. Since he would definitely know more about how things work then a random Courier. As for my DLC choice I nuked the Legion but saved the NCR. We definitely don't need a major slave empire in the southern united states. The NCR is much more reasonable.

So, the reason House needed his chip in New Vegas, is because when the bombs dropped, he managed to shoot down the ICBMS heading towards the Mohave, for the most part, but in doing so his Main Computer system overloaded and put him in a coma til he woke up many many years later and took over and formed the Strip. When he did he was forced to awaken the securitons with the older less useful mark 1 OS, since the data for the MK 2 was corrupted on his mainframe.

Joshua was with the Legion but let them down with a certain loss. They covered him in pitch, set him on fire, threw him down a canyon, but he had things to live for. He considers the burning into a canyon his second baptism. One in water, and the other in fire where he did the most soul searching. And that's only the start of the fuel for his new objective. Thus the fire inside of him burns brighter than the fire on the outside. Initially he shrugs this off hoping for a better more quiet life with loved ones, only they would be slaughtered in the hunt for his head, hired by his old leader. Nothing but tragedy for our mormon tongued man, missing a lot of his skin.

44:46 - Yes, very basic "you seems to need of some assist" type of random encounter, BUT you need to pick the "skill" up so it happens.

Chezler you may never see this, but if you want accurate, wonderfully put together, and lore expanding all the games, dlc, and elders scrolls lore. I highly recommend watching EpicNate Videos as well, he does so in depth into the theories and the lore.

I like to dump Strength and Luck and focus on Intelligence, Charisma, Agility and Endurance. Intelligence increases how much EXP you get, so fast levelling, but it also increases how many skill points you get per level. You can get everything to 100. Best thing to do to save on S.P.E.C.I.A.L points is only increases stats to 9, there's a place where you can buy a single point in every stat. Endurance and Agility are a priority though, especially on higher difficulties.

Mysterious Stranger deals really high damage, Miss Fortune deals low damage but stuns targets and blows up their grenades in their pockets if they have any.

New Vegas is a great game with the best batch of DLC. Honest Hearts, Dead Money, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road, all bundled together are worth every bottle cap.

fun fact: having high intelligence and charisma cna be pretty broken too. YOu cna talk you way out of a few good many boss fights and if you have the right skills with enough points you cna sabotage some encoutners (for example, being able to rewire turrets and traps to use against your enemies)

I argue that the NCR is the most fun faction if you like pissing people off because anyone can shoot a slaver but taxing him into bankruptcy is a whole new form of torture and people respect you for it because who’s going to defend a slave owner

2 seconds in, and every fallout fan is so used to Brahmin, when Chelzor was confused we all thought, "What, the statue?" because Brahmin are just kind of everywhere in Fallout. We don't see them, the same way nobody really sees other cars on the road. Like, yeah, we see them. But they don't mean anything beyond "Yep, there's a car there. Don't crash into them."

This was a great video Chelzor and I highly recommend playing New Vegas, Fallout 3 and 4 if you get a chance. Also in Vegas you can get the cannibal perk and when you go to the ultra-luxe you get different dialogue, hope you have a great night.

my setup was putting more points into Intelligence, Charisma Perception & Luck while averaging Strength, Endurance & Agility my gear setup was the Desert Rangers Armor & Dead Horses War Club from the Honest Hearts dlc, the Mysterious Magnum or Ranger Sequoia revolver and Lever Action Rifle, the YCS-186 Prototype Gauss Rifle only available if you don't take Wild Wasteland perk until you get to Big MT in the Old World Blues dlc and the Mercenary Grenade Launcher from the Mercenary dlc best play through ever

29:10 yes you did. In game. That's what prompts the line lmao Also to be fair to her. The white gloves are split on cannibalism and the woman talking is the head of the faction that doesn't want to. Regarding Joshua. I highly recommend LeonTalksalots video on him. You'll see what he means by the fire statement.

My only complaint with the new vats is they actually removed target areas that the first two games had. Fun fact that plane really was in Lake Meade which was a surprising detail for them to use.

5:40 I made a character during my NCR Playthrough named Cassius, and he ended up being my favorite Playthrough so when I went through the DLCs I used him, kicking me up to level 50 (max level for base game is 30, but you get 5 more every time you get a DLC). I maxed out almost every skill, I had all the strongest perks, I had all the best guns and rapidly realized Man the Mojave gets boring when not even Lanius can hurt you any more. I would hunt deathclaws with a Bowie Knife just to actually be able to take damage again, it was ridiculous. Lesson to learn: Don't become God, it gets boring.
@CliffSedge-nu5fvАй бұрын
That just happened to me. I went into Dead Wind Cavern and soloed all the deathclaws with the flare gun and riot shotgun on hotkeys. With the And Stay Back perk, every deathclaw was stuck on the floor burning and couldn't attack me. Just in case, I lined the floor with plasma mines as I went. If one managed to stand up and stop burning long enough to come toward me, I could retreat through the mine field. Deathclaw Promontory? Fat man with big kid mininukes. Anything else? One-shot ash pile with Hyperbreeder Alpha.

The dlcs for New Vegas are all good in their own way, but Old World Blues is my favorite. My favorite dlcs in order from most favorite to least favorite: Old World Blues, Honest Hearts, Lonesome Road, and Dead Money. Lonesome Road & Dead Money are almost tied for last place, but LR beats DM for third place by just a bit.

Honestly for Vegas. Always go 10 int 1 cha. You can offset any dump stat with skill points and you get more skill points per level up the higher your int is. Meanwhile Cha doesn't really have any worthwhile secondary effect that makes it worth speccing into at all. It just influence your starting speech and barter which your int will more then make up for. Anything else depends on what weapon you want to go for. I personally go for guns and build for maintaining the guns and critting with them since their the most plentiful weapon type.
