Feedback systems are cornerstone for stability in Physiology. No wonder chemical regulation of respiration adds on to neural regulation for preventing fluctuations in partial pressures of oxygen and carbondioxide. Watch the video and share your thoughts, can chemical regulation alone suffice for control of respiration and why ?

Mam I have a question ,, why decrease in H+ concentration in blood in case of decrease partial pressure of 02 inhibit respiration !!?
@PhysiologyOpen8 ай бұрын
Decrease in H concentration will decrease the response from peripheral chemoreceptors which is opposite to the effect of decrease in O2

Beautiful video. Kindly advise about one point at 18.42 time line you said at time of Hypercapnia, Hco3- will come out of capillary to balance Hydrogen ion is CSF. But due to blood brain barrier hydrogen ion and bicarbonate ion cannot cross and enter CSF so how to explain that ? Thank you very much
@PhysiologyOpen Жыл бұрын
Hco3- ions move by means of transporters

13:00 Doesn't decrease in pH make hemoglobin release oxygen (Bohr effect), thus less HbO2 --> lower pH. Alkalosis being the result of too little CO2, Hb picks more O2 Where did I get it wrong?
@PhysiologyOpen Жыл бұрын
Yeah so how is this related to chemical regulation of respiration. This happens in tissues apart from peripheral chemoreceptors…in chemoreceptors dissolved O2 is enough

Hemidesmosomess is connection between cell and extracellular matrix. Integrin is the cell adhesion molecule and it is connected to intermediate filaments intracellularly

@PhysiologyOpen2 жыл бұрын
I have started working on CVS notes. Target is by end of next month (end of June). I will definitely launch it CNS notes I will work after that, however, they will be released in parts, because they are huge..so sensory physiology, motor physiology, higher functions will be released in parts
@harshpatel40682 жыл бұрын
@@PhysiologyOpen thanks for replying mam. Just a humble request please try to launch cns before October. Most students have their pre university in November. Your notes are very helpful. Eagerly waiting for cvs.
