Been lucky enough to own most motion platforms over the years and I’d say this is easy 80% of what’s missing from sim racing, and motion / active pedals make up the last 20% it’s probably the best sim racing add on I’ve ever purchased

Own it for a week now (bought it after I saw your first review and checked the Qubic discord where everybody is saying the same thing) as an addition to my QS 220 and can confirm everything you say 100 %. Totally awesome. Game changer...Have tried a 6 point and a 4 point belt and settled for the 4 point...effects are the same and 4 point is much more comfy...I was worried about having to get a new seat as according to the Qubic instructions the slots for the belts in my seat are a bit too low and too narrow. However, much to my relief it does not seem to matter (I'm using 3'' belts with shoulder pads though...and I have chosen the "sports belts" instead of the "race belts" as in the sport belts the shoulder belts run down vertically (and not pointing to the center lock) which keeps them a bit more away from my neck). And, holy cow: You can actually drift a car on tarmac in iRacing???!!! I thought you had to get AC and quite a few mods to be able to do that...

So happy to read about your joy with it brother 😃 Indeed Qubic system recommendation are strict probably because they want to be sure will be the best possible experience but even with few imperfections I don’t feel much difference which is great thing 😃 And the RX cars are controllable indeed going sideways on tarmac 😆 Hugs brother and thanks for sharing your experience with this monster 🤗

I absolutely agree with everything you've said. I don't find myself missing motion as much as my QSBT1. I have a DBOX4250i, and I find a lot of the motion gets lost in the rattles of my chassis. Because the QSBT1 is connected directly to you through the straps, the feedback cues are much more direct. It may not be a 1:1 translation to real life, but I dont think thats really the point. It's that the feedback is CLEAR for you to make decisions and provides the next level of immersion. I am considering seling my DBOX just to make my setup much simplier.

@snoopy_peanuts_77 it's definitely great and does a better job than my previous diy version. With shipping, it's a little overpriced, but it's super convenient and easy to set up. A little tip, if you have any binding or friction on the spring housing at the rubber, use a little lithium grease. No binding and much better movement at those points.

I've enjoyed all of your videos on this product, and any of your vids that I happen to watch, such a pure passion and love for motorsports both sim and real, you do a great service to the sim community by sharing your perspective :) How do you feel the QS-BT1 does with simulating oversteer, both intentional (drifting) and from pushing the limits of traction? I enjoy driving a lot of 70's - 90's production cars on street tires in my sim and I'm thinking about situations like loss of traction from too strong/abrupt braking & turn in on corner entry and too early/abrupt throttle input on corner exit. One of the biggest things I miss from IRL motorsports is feeling the rear start to become unweighted and slip out--not in the wheel but through the seat--I think this product could go a long way toward creating that immersion and helping ride the line of traction on the relatively "slippery" car setups I enjoy driving. Cheers!
@chepilevski
@chepilevski 25 күн бұрын
To be honest, non of the feedback in any sim are as good as the information we are getting in real cars and is mostly about giving us the information of passing the edge and correct the inputs for the next time. It is still helpful a lot for improving driving with practice and even correct the setup or makes some difficult situations! However, the fun factor with this is next level for driving and driving and probably some of the other effects can help a bit to find the edge ! Thanks for the kind words buddy 🤛

@@chepilevski I figured it was for a reason such as that. Maintaining a discord can definitely be difficult and you'd likely need to delegate things like moderation and maintaining to others to make it work so you still enjoy spending the time you have the way you do. Perhaps in the future an alternative/compromise can be found, as having a repository full of information such as your setups and settings for various hardware and games would be incredibly useful. One alternative would be something like a subreddit I suppose.

If you have to choose only one, would you choose motion or belt tensioner?
@chepilevski
@chepilevski Ай бұрын
The belt tensioner wining for few reasons definitely! Way simpler yet at the same time gives illusion of g force which motion can’t recreate, also covers very well the haptic feedback almost like the motion kit and is way more affordable!

Thanks for video. I wonder what happens with tensioners when doing rally and flying over the hill on full speed. I think on landing it will tension too?
@chepilevski
@chepilevski Ай бұрын
It reacts with the chassis but there is protection mode and if the landing is harsh it just reduces the effect! It’s the same with the motion actuators. It must be reasonable soft landing and if is not will kill the effect to not hurt me !
