One of my favorite theories that really fuel the fact that Draco isn’t as bad as people think is that when they’re in the book store in the beginning, Draco picks up a book and rips out a page. We never see what happens to that page. But when Hermione BOOK LOVER Hermione gets petrified she’s holding one single page. Why would Hermione rip it out and not just take the whole book? Well because someone gave her that page. Aka Draco. That’s a theory I will always stay with

In the books, the trio exchange notes after Hermione is unpetrified and she is happy to know that they figured it out from the page she was holding. It is mentioned elsewhere in the earlier chapters that she went to the library, found the basilisk reference, and ran into Penelope Clearwater. Hermione cautioned her to be careful and look into shadows and corners, in case something was lurking, and Penelope got her mirror out. So both girls got petrified because they saw the basilisk through the mirror etc etc. Quite descriptive, no mention of Draco giving her the page. I am not trying to be mean or anything, just saying that the books made it clear thaf Hermione tore it out of a library book, maybe because this was a life and death situation and she didn't care about tearing a crucial page out of a book if it was difficult to borrow or take the book out of the library.

Both the book and film version have, more than any other story to me, that feeling of “oh, it was so blindingly obvious, how could I have NOT worked it out on first reading”. There’s the diary slip in the movie, and the fact that we never see Ginny during an attack but we always check in with her subtly just after an attack in the book. Subtle but obvious on second viewing/reading.

Am I the only one that notices how many times Hogwarts actually changed their school uniform? In Fantastic Beasts 2, you could see young Newt in his blue and yellow Hufflepuff uniform. In the first 2 parts of Harry Potter, they had all-black uniforms and their hoods were also completely black. They also had 2 buttons and you could also see that the Slytherin logo on the uniform had a larger silver border and no longer in the other parts. The logos of the houses were generally larger in the first two parts. The tie was also only 2 thick strokes with the main house color ( green for Slytherin, red for Gryffindor, yellow for Hufflepuff, blue for Ravenclaw) and after the 2 parts, the tie had the main color of the house and several smaller strokes of the secondary color of the house. In the other parts, the hoods had the main color of the house. You could also see the color a bit outside when it goes into the hood. In addition, the uniform inside also had the main house color, which she did not have in the previous parts.

Anyway about the clock thing though, to be honest I'm WAY more curious about the fact that the clock says "Prison" next to "Dentist" more than anything else. I think Lockhart has an identical wig because he’s wearing one at the same time. Usually when people wear wigs on a daily basis they have a spare one so when one needs to get washed, you can switch them up! I always assumed he wears wigs to make himself look more handsome.

I think that since Lockhart likes inventing hair care products and wants to release his own line of them, he has a wig to experiment with those products without risking dealing damage to his own hair in case something goes wrong. A lot of hairdressers also have wigs to experiment with hairstyles and be able to fully see the effect without always having to bother a real person to let them do their hair in a funny way. Personally, I doubt Lockhart actually wears a wig, and it's far more likely he just has it for such experiments.

Lockhart’s wig could be two things - he lost his hair when he was experimenting for his hair products.. or maybe it’s just like a hat for him. If he’s having a bad hair day, he puts on a wig styled exactly like his hair so nobody knows. The second has always seemed more likely to me, since his hair is fine in the scene. The only one I possibly wouldn’t have considered a missed detail is the ‘rooster’, but I guess for people who haven’t read the books it could be - I’m just a bit of a book-proud potterhead and not afraid to say it 😂 Cannot wait for pt.3 as it’s my favourite movie!

Did u know that at the beginning of chamber of secrets, the scene where Lucius first meets Harry, draco rips a page out of a book. That is actually the page hermione is holding onto, because he figured out the basilisk was getting around through pipes. While he’s standing next to hermione I think me might’ve slipped that page into hermiones pocket. Because hermione would never rip a page out of a book, so I think draco is the one that figured out how the basilisk got around.
