Nice video. Only recently I've been thinking about regular Najdorf lines transposing into Grand Prix lines when White has an advantage as described in this video. I started out looking for Black refutations, but not finding any believe it's just better to try to avoid these positions as Black (when playing the Najdorf).

Dear Mio thank you very much for these videos. 2:50 into the video you talk about playing 5. Bb5 to take on c6 and it will transpose into previous lines. But if black replies with 5. - Bb7, 6. Bxc6 - Bxc6..... I cannot find this line in any of your great GPA videos. I have researched the line in Chessbase and it seems like black often get out better than white. Am I missing something here? :) Thank you for a great channel B.R. Anders

You have most of the things in the PGN, problem is that with the video you get definitely some additional lines, much more in explaining things clearly and in details and lots of people told me that the video gives them easier and more interesting approach for watching, remembering and keeping the attention better!

32:01 No, we haven't checked 7. ... Nf6 after 7. 0-0 sir, we've checked 6. ... Nf6 after 6. Bc4 but i guess it's the same 8. e5 gives White a better position after 8. ... dxe5 9. fxe5 and on 9. ...Ng4 or 9. ...Nh5 10. Bxf7 or on 9. ...Ng8 10. Ng5 is winning for White. At least i think so ... i hope it helps. Thanks for wonderful videos and Lectures btw. I am from Umag and a big fan of yours , see you in Portorož i hope :-)

@Miodrag Great video, but I don't think you realise how hard it is for lower-rated players like myself to advance our kingside pawns after castling short: it violates the opening principle of protecting the king which coaches drum into us. I always castle long (after Be3 and Qd2) and only then try a pawn storm; is this wrong?
@MiodragPerunovicOfficial
@MiodragPerunovicOfficial 2 жыл бұрын
It is absolutely understandable Matthew! Believe it or not, I always teach my students to play like that 👍 It is fairly easy plan and gives White nice attacking prospects!

Hello! Great videos on GPA, I tried it and I am having a blast so far! I've bought your course (Butcher the Sicilian) at chessable but first I would like to play with GPA a bit, because I play Vienna as white after e4 and Dutch as black and thus I can use my experience with similar structures and plans. As black, when I was playing the Sicilian, it seemed to me that the most natural approach to GPA was to play e6 and d5 as fast as possible e.g. 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.f4 e6 4.Nf3 d5: if white takes, then pawn f4 just looks stupid, if not, black has a nice center and can do anything, white can't damage black's structure because after 5.Bb5 Ne7 can be played... How would you deal with it, optimally to get similar positions as in the GPA main or Najdorf lines? Is 4. Bb5 a good idea to push the game in this direction? And what to do with 2...e6 and 3...d5? I looked through your videos and couldn't find any answers to this natural approach. Have I missed anything? Are you planning some videos on 3...e6 in the future? It would be great!

No, White wins by force, starting with 1 Ng5, threatening Qh7#, Black can't advance pawn h6 because Bishop no longer protects it, so Rook has to move to provide escape square (if instead ...1 Kg7, then 2 Qxh7+ Kf6 3 e5+ Kxe5 (not Nxe5 (or dxe5) Ne4# (f pawn is pinned)) 4 Qg7+ f6 5 Nf3#) but White then mates with 2 Qxh7+ and 3 Qxf7, as the g7 square has been vacated.
