Or we’d play with a chess clock and give him 2 min for the whole game, still no problem. But still, the biggest laughs were when we made him play with no queen. He’d gobble up our pieces, and promote his pawns 6-7 times, seeing how many queens he could get without a checkmate or stalemate, just to mess with us. Another fun thing was watching him checkmate with only a knight and bishop. None of us could do it, but he did it with ease.

A pawn to take another has to be diagonal to its position. chess pieces directly in front of a pawn - the pawn can't do anything until something appears in its diagonal path (by 1 space). How it was positioning in their game, she wouldn't normally be able to do that move and the pawns would have to continue straight on their path as they were level with one another. But the game was at speed so I think it was misread by both players where her pawn was.

I just wanted to point out that it happened really quickly….and that ends this discussion for me right here - especially as English is my second language, and I find it quite useless to nitpick on wordings when you and I and everybody else knows exactly what I meant to say as a compliment.
