Allowed Only if you didn’t put the the peice on a square and removed your hand from the peice.otherwise you can take back but you still have to move the peice,,but not necessarily to the previous square.

I knew sometimes it's tough to win rook endings even with two extra pawns. This game i got to know that its a theoretical draw in case of "f and h pawns" because you don't get enough room to maneuver your own king. The opponents rook just keeps giving you checks at the right moments (wrong moments for you)
