When I was young, I entered one of the Middle East championships. I won my first round, and in the second round, I spent a whole day training in order to win, and I lost. I was very devastated and decided not to complete the championship, but when I grew up, I learned that a person does not learn without losing.

Ahmadli you should know the rule of simply, you are one piece ahead, even though your Bishop is like a big pawn, after she play C4 you should play Qa7 immediately Cxb5 Rxb5 if she play Qd3 to pin the rook Qd4 exchange the Q immediately you are still ahead no more Q in the board, I say this coz the b white b pawn is really a menace giving you a headache

when are the coaches going to teach they shd stop the clock and then offer the handshake to resign? too many in kids tournaments offer the handshake. the other one accepts thinking the one who offered is resigning, but they claim they offered a draw. Here good that the kid, asked and confirmed that it is a resignation.

Mənim balaca Şahzadəm,sən bu oyunda xal itirsə də gözəl oyun oynadım! Bu münasibətlə səni təbrik edirəm,gözlərindən axan yaş mən ananın qəlbindən süzüldü , o balaca ürəyindəki böyük əzm,məgrurluq bir zamanlar sənə daha böyük sevinclər bəxş edəcək! Şərh yazanlara isə demək istəyirəm ki bütün jestlər 10 yaşlı körpənin əzmlə 4 saat oynadığı oyununun texniki səhvdən itirdiyi qələbə sevincinin ifadəsidir.Məncə bunu duymaq çətin deyil!

She was probably worried about Qb4+ winning some pawns and felt it safer to blockade, but she didn’t see that after Rxb5 she has Qc4+. White punished black perfectly like a 2000+ player after Kb6.

Shes literally 8 and spent 4 hours on a game just to throw it all away in one move and crying is poor sportsmanship?? If this were an adult yes it would be but we must give kids time to learn. Crying shows how much this game means to her. If this has not happened to you I assume either you started as an adult, or were low elo as a kid. If those are not the case i applaud your maturity at 8 years old but I think you can reasonably say this behavior is expected of an 8 year old.

I mean, this has to be very common at kid level, I am assuming. No wonder, chess players can grow up to be somewhat ruthless people. You beat your opponent and they cry, and it becomes a normal for you.
