Perunovic is my hero. Two weeks ago I was not familiar with his work. Then his Schevenigan video was exactly what I was looking for (and much more than I had hoped for). And now this week another video that is exactly what I would have asked for. Almost spooky.

At 44:00, 16. Bd3 is not enough as you said, 16...f5 17. exf6 Rxf6 18. Qxh7+ and the best you can get seems to be a perpetual. 16. 0-0-0 followed by 17. Bd3 is the best way to go to get something. Love your lessons, keep up the awesome work Mio !

Thank you for this video. I have play the two knights variation against the Caro-Kann, but didn't understand themes and tactics. This video helped me and I thank you. I added it to my liked videos and subscribed. I think if Fischer had continued an active chess career, we may have been introduced to these themes, moves, and tactical motifs earlier, since he did play the two knights variation against the Caro-Kann. So, again I thank you.

Hello Miodrag! I discovered this variation myself some time before you made this video and I thought it was interesting, but there wasn’t much information about it online. This is one of the rare ( or maybe the only ) good coverage of this variation from the white side. You did a marvelous job and i really like the variations that you picked as they offer a great attacking chances. I especially like the d3 system in the bg4, bxf3 line. All of these lines seem quiet and harmless on first look but they are actually quite dangerous. Also a good plus to this variation is that not many people know about it and I have won a lot of my games in this variation even against a lot higher rated opponents! Thanks for making this video!

Great video! One little note though, 46:40 doesnt work in fact because the queen gets trapped later

I'm going to have to take a break from this lecture to let it sink in for a little while then come back to it because otherwise I doubt I'll remember enough of it

2. Nc3 and 3. Nf3 is most common but I prefer the opposite move order. 2. Nf3 makes the opponent think, for just one moment, that I might just be a doofus who doesn't know theory.

The 2 knights variation is a part of the opening repertoire for white in chessmasterschool (not sponsored, just a happy customer). Although the Qe2!? in the dxe4 Nxe4 lines seems like an improvement, the analysis from the ICS is generally precise. A very nice video once again

Just had a Lichess blitz game in the line where black plays ,,3Nf6.After my 4.e5 he played Ng8 and equalised quite easily playing Bf5 before e6 and with a set up similar to the Advanced Caro

The early lines in this video where black is able to play the d pawn to d4 and then possibly again to d3 should be considered questionable if not suspect. Same with lines where black plays an early e6 trapping the QB behind the pawn wall. Mirodrag ends his analysis and evaluation for each line as "White has a won game." Although I would personally agree and generally prefer White in these positions, I recognize that in various lines of the Caro Kann and some other openings that Black intentionally plays for these positions. A lost pawn in these positions is considered to have dynamic potential. By my count, the lines where the pawn is sacrificed or lost on the d file amount to about 3 tempi lost(pawn moves 3 times and is captured). But, it takes at least 2 tempi and some would count a third tempo for White to unwind those pieces in front of his own d pawn and advance it to free the QB. Freeing the QB by fianchettoing also has its dangers because the question is whether Black can take advantage of those d3, d4 and other weak squares before White can remedy those problems and remain a pawn up. As for the early e6 move, yes the result is playing a French a pawn down, particularly if White plays d4 at some time. But, that is the idea of the French 2 Knights, that the d4 square might be usable if not occupied by a pawn... And it's debatable whether Black's QB is better behind or in front of the pawn wall. Whichever Black chooses before locking the B inside or outside by e6 can be a strategic play by White. I'm not saying that the opinions in this part of the video are correct or should be condemned, and maybe it's too early to pass judgement. Just saying that the viewer should explore these positions and not simply agree with what is said.

13:50 is a nice trap but its kind of obvious, more accurate is Qf3 Nf6 Qb3! Wins an exchange by force after Qd5 Qxb7 Qxe5+ Be2 (or Ne2) and you are already threatening mate in 1 and the rook. Queen has to defend and then you just grab the rook at the right time, just be careful not to get your queen trapped, grabbing the rook immediately is a mistake in some lines.
