I felt so incredibly frustrated, I turned on an engine for a few moves, thinking I'll resign if I end up proving myself wrong and demolishing the "poor" soul. Well, I've made this analogy to cheaters and I think it works perfectly here. Imagine you're talking to some dude pretending to be a Chemist. Let's assume you're asking a bunch of questions that a layman couldn't answer, like the physical properties of some organic compound. Now, let's say the fake Chemist is googling all his answers. The guy is still incredibly dumb, but he has access to a virtually infinite amount of information at his finger tips. So he's gonna say some dumb shit, in spite of also saying some profound shit. So, cheaters are basically stupid geniuses, or in this instance, 1800 and 3600.

Yes, that rook A6 move found this quickly. I had to pause the video and double check the position to understand how good that was. It's very hard to see a move like that this quickly. I definitely think someone can spot this move if he thinks about it for a little bit but it's not obvious to just throw your rook right where it can be taken as a decoy. Then, as shown, it's just over. If you don't take the rook and let him queen. You get mated quickly anyway.

It completely paralyzes black. The threat of running the h pawn to h6 looks slow but probably is going to force Black to play Qd8 and Rc6, which lets white grab the e pawn.
@LFish2 жыл бұрын
... and Nd7 defends the e pawn while attacking the queen but then leads into Qe7, which becomes even more safe while maintaining the paralysis. Black doesn't want to trade but gets kinda forced to it so he can get active again. In the end, its always incredible if multiple of your pieces cant work well because of one single opponent piece.
@zorionzorion2 жыл бұрын
You would think that that move doesn't lead to much and would get kicked away immediately, but it leads to a queen trade. Chessbrah doesn't want to trade because he's down material already. If you just leave the queen where it is on e7, bishop c4 and then f4 seem very strong for white, while black's pieces are cramped. It was shocking bc I thought black's queen was just chillin but instead it is now gone for a losing endgame.

A queen trade when you have sacrificed an exchange (rook for horse or bishop) usually means you are worse in the end game especially after that queen trade further suffocated blacks position forcing backward moves.

@ibmicroapple91422 жыл бұрын
The engine moves are capped at a time limit - it looks for the best move up to X milliseconds and then plays it. That might not be the best overall move, but the best it could compute in that timeframe. Also most opening moves are done via table lookups instead of actually calculating, as that is faster and the positions are already well (pre-)calculated - the actual time consuming calculations only take place later in the game which is when they'll either play worse moves or take longer. The engines can also calculate the most likely continuations whilst its the opponents time to move, so that they are prepared when its their turn. Bullet has just as many cheaters as other time formats, trust me. It's a bummer really, because bullet was a safe haven from cheaters up until a few years ago, when online chess really took off... :(
