Dropping GM Vidit was a wrong decision, he continuously played 6 games, suddenly dropped him from playing, will confuse him, he is an imotional player, top form leds GM Vidit at the top but sudden break may hamper his confidence, if in next match he can't play well it's the team decision to blame, clear politics, giving favour to the south again! I think the decision to rest vidit was taken by Srinath the team captain and since both vidit and arjun haven't had a rest day I think that's why Sri thought it might be good to rest vidit so he can play board three in future and rest arjun next or he can play board four with a good rested mind on important matches which are yet come. As seeing the Chinese team form we didn't need to field our best team one win on any board was sufficient to win
