WOW! Checking off all state parks in one state is quite an accomplishment. So far we've only been to one SC state park- Santee SP - and we loved it. Definitely want to see more of South Carolina. Adding this one to our list and following for more great recommendations.

This looks like our kind of park. We are working our way through the state parks in Michigan and it's amazing how much they have to offer. They look a lot like the park you featured in your video. The spots ARE spacious! We've had to get used to airplane noise at our house out in the country, too. It's good that you pointed that out for people. Wow, that artist's painting was spectacular. I've never heard of the Artist in Residence program. Thanks so much for sharing that with us. New sub here!

Thank you so much for your informative videos on SC state parks. Congratulations on visiting them all! Thanks to your videos I have tried a few parks I've never tried. Greenwood and Calhoun Falls. We have passed the Chester State Park on the way to my mother in laws but never camped there. I never knew it had all this to offer. Cute kids! :) btw My family was from Sumter. I love Swan Lake and have great memories with my grandparents. We're now near Greenville. Happy Camping and have a blessed 2023!

Nice to see! We have a site here in early March - we've done several SC State Parks - Lake Greenwood, Cheraw (twice), Lake Wateree (three times), Andrew Jackson, Table Rock, Dreher Island, Santee, Little Pee Dee and Aiken (twice). We have really enjoyed them all!

Chester is similar to Cheraw and Little Pee Dee in the fact that they are all small campgrounds on lakes. The way that the community of Chester has poured into this park makes it unique. We hope that you experience that, too. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Chester has a couple with full hookups. Cheraw and Little Pee Dee do not have hull hookups.

Now why haven’t we tried Chester State Park! We live 1 hr from there & my husband loves to fish. The airport noise is like being at Myrtle Beach SP which we love & stay at regularly. But we stay at Greenwood & Dreher too. I’m gonna book Chester right now. Thanks guys

Woohoo! All 47 done. Congrats, guys. Chester is in our top 5 favorite state parks. Our first time there, the campground host filled the firewood rack by the public space with firewood and told us we were free to use it for that fire pit as much as we liked. We were there for almost 6 hours haha. We had fellow campers stopping and chatting every once in a while. It was a great time. The cabins are great, too. If you cross the bridge, the trail continues for another 1/2 a mile or so. Thanks for sharing your journeys with us! Loved the drone shots.

Im sure there is Wifi near the officem, but Is there any cell service in the campground area?

We were able to do whatever we wanted to on our AT&T phones. We don't stream, though. So, I can't speak to the ability to stream. The park is fairly close to town, so I would suspect that most carriers would have adequate service.

We’ll be neighbors that weekend. We’re booked in site 13A, which I’m pretty sure is the one right by the walkway down to the lake. I’m looking forward to that weekend! We just got in some “Weekend Non-Warrior” stickers that we’ll be handing out to anyone that wants one.
