I love using chestnuts and mushrooms together for Thanksgiving stuffing. Typical seasonings of the season with cornbread, a little fortified wine. It can vary with experimentation or what’s on hand. Now, I just thought. Pizza. How might this be as a topping on pizza? Huh. Might need to try.

I'm intrigued! Would someone please describe the chestnut flavor profile for me? Haven't tried them yet so not sure if my fam will like this recipe. Grazie! ❤
@justasksally Жыл бұрын
I would describe it like a sweet, semi-soft nut, somewhat similar to a Brazil nut but not as bitter.

Hi Lydia! Can we substitute any nut to the chestnut?
@justasksally Жыл бұрын
Most nuts will not cook down quite as soft like a chestnut. You could certainly top with roasted pine nuts for that soft bite, but they are quite pricey.

2:31 Ciao, quando parli di spaghetti dici di farli “Italian way”, però poi la parola “spaghetti” la pronunci all’americana (“spagheri”) e non in maniera originale italiana. :)

I loved this episode! Nonna is a jewel and is still looking and sounding so fit. My mother came from Italy when she was 28 after WWII. Sadly, she is no longer with me, but the wonderful memories are. This is one dish I have never seen or tasted in Italy or here, but I will definitely add it to my recipes, as it looks delicious. Buon appetito!

It's starchy, somewhat sweet, delicious cooked or roasted. Beautiful in desserts, I've never had it savoury in a dish like this. Many people collect them in my area.
