Why must people compare great artists as if they were in competition. Can't we just appreciate their achievements and differences in styles. Atkins, Sabicas, Hendrix, Segovia, De Lucia and hundreds of other great guitarists have each made our world better with their efforts.

One day you pick up the guitar and you feel like a great master, and the next day you feel like a fool. It’s because we’re different every day, but the guitar is always the same…Just beautiful.

In the case of some acoustic guitars, sometimes it's the guitar reacting to the weather and making what sounded nice before sound like crap. That is bound to affect how we feel.

@@darkclaw8959 well, I can only speak for myself and i can personally relate to the original post. Some days are better than others. Some days im really cooking it and new creative ideas are just flowing out of me, I can hardly get it down fast enough. Then some days I can't properly piece together licks and phrases, can't focus on where I should be going next, can't improvise like i know i should... Often it's when I'm tired or exhausted from work but sometimes it just seems like it's "not my day" type of thing.

@@darkclaw8959 we are all very impressed with how perfect and amazing you are. For a lot of us, we have good days and off days. Sometimes I feel like superman on the guitar. Other days I feel like I cant put anything together. Most of the time it's probably closer to the middle.

@dagnabbit61874 жыл бұрын
SteveAndJohnnieShow but George really didn’t like it . He wanted a Stratocaster . He was about to buy one in Hamburg but another RocknRoll Guitarist beat him to it . I think George finally got one and used it on the Revolver and Rubber Soul LPs. Of course with the Beatle clips George is seen with different guitars like a Gibson SG and Telecaster . As a soloist George settled on Fenders and in particular the Strat , to which he invented that signature slide sound . Yes I do know where that Gibson SG wound up .
@ClipontheEar4 жыл бұрын
And Harrison later said ‘My guitar sound then was crap.’ Some have taken this as criticism of George Martin’s production, but Harrison seemed to me to saying ‘I’ve moved on to different instruments and sonorities and styles’ e.g. playing through a Leslie organ speaker box. The Beatles were recorded ‘clean’ in their early tracks, so what you hear is what they were and what they wanted. And that Chet Atkins Gretsch of George’s on those recordings chimes like a Liberty Bell.

Look at Chet just big chillin up there! It's like watching a big trophy fish lay under cover under a dock or a tree. Compare this playing to his 1963 Malaguena performance and you'll realize he is trying about 1% here. This Mrs. Robinson performance was easier than breathing for him.
