Chetna Makans 8th Cookbook review called EASY INDIAN VEGETARIAN.
I made a few recipes from this book to try it out. I cooked chana dal which was fairly simple to make and went really nicely with the parantha , namak para (which I have made before) they taste like the samosa pastry crust which the best part of the samosa. Fenugreek flatbread however I did turn that into a fenugreek parantha I couldn't find fresh fenugreek so I did use dried instead. Finished off with coriander chutney I'm used to adding yogurt to this but this one was without yogurt so it had a very strong intense flavour to it and finally made the imli chutney which was so sweet and tangy and delcious and I think that would go perfectly with a samosa or ontop of a samosa chaat. The chana dal my kids did enjoy which made me happy. The fenugreek paranthas were a touch on the spicy side for my kids but I liked them.
All in all I really did enjoy this book for new recipes aswell as my current recipes I already cook but with a different spice blend to my usual so I can cook a familiar dish which has a different taste to it. Also some brand new recipes in here which I have never tried before so I look forward to making those. I LOVE how each recipe suggests what's best to serve it with . I like the variety of recipes and how can use alot of the spices in a number of recipes. The food photography is beautiful throughout the book
