This is one recipe which i wanted to make for quite a long time. Finally i made it yesterday and it was a huge hit. It turned out so tasty. I used the same stuffing and made a steamed modak as well. Will share it tomorrow.
For Batter:
All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup or as needed
Jaggery / Sarkarai / Palm Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Cardamom Powder / Yelakai podi- 1 tsp
oil - 1/2 litre - for deep frying
Preparation Time : 10 mins Cooking Time : 1 hour Makes : 12 to 15 suyyam
Ingredients: For Batter: All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 cup Water - 1/2 cup or as neededand Cardomom powder, oil and water
Mix the batter and pour into the piping hot oil. Fry until it turns to be a golden color. Your suyyam is ready once taken out and served.
