I've had my zr2 for 2 months now 1700 miles and I'm getting 17.9 mpg . Which is a lot better than my old Sierra with a 5.3 @ 13 mpg and, I'm having a lot more fun driving the Colorado.

Im so confused with trip settings, how do you overall get your best mpg?

Best MPG for me happens on the highway. I’m also careful on the throttle in city driving. The trip settings also measure shorter periods. For example, if there was a 50 mile trip, where during a shorter stretch in that trip you were averaging 20 MPG that one section of the trip computer notes it. It’s just collecting data all the time. Hope that helps.

Wow...that fill-up at less than 300 miles is kind of eye-opening. The lift and those aggressive off-road tires are really giving the fuel economy a hit. Hope it does get better after break-in. You'd probably pick-up 2-3 mpg just going to an all season tire but the appearance would take a hit.

Thanks Ross. Almost at the end of tank 2 and things are already much better. Trip computer says 18.2 with 97 miles to empty. Not much difference in driving or temps, so perhaps it was just the first tank break in.

I ordered mine in November. Once I get it I will be just like you. Pavement and maybe some light trails. Not going to scratch it all up on trails atleast until its paid off. 😁😁

Yeah, I think that’s perfectly acceptable. Of I was made of money maybe I’d be a little more adventurous but at extremely happy to have this truck. Hope you get yours soon! Thanks!
