Sounds really good! What Compression and Rocker Ratio you running? we are building a 383 with 10.16-1 Compression, and will be using this same VooDoo 268 flat tappet camshaft, with a 1.6 Rocker. just trying to get an idea of what it will sound like. Thanks!

@@dougmurray7684 shouldn't be a problem running pump gas with 10.16-1 compression with the aluminum heads ... it would possibly be an issue with Cast Iron heads though. We also had the distributor recurved to limit total timing around 32° and had Sean Murphy at SMI build a custom Stage 2 800cfm Quadrajet carb for it. We haven't got it together yet, still waiting on the machine shop to get our parts back to us.

@@dougmurray7684 yep, the aluminum head dissapates heat out of the chamber much faster than a cast iron head, so you can typically run atleast an additional 1/2 point of compression on the same octane. This is also why, in theory, you can take a Cast Iron head and an Aluminum Head that flowed the exact same amount of air, and on the same engine with everything the same, along with the same compression, the cast iron head would make more power than the aluminum head, because the chamber in the cast iron head retains heat much longer. The hotter the chamber, the more energy in the cylinder, Energy equates to power. Now, typically any aftermarket aluminum head is gonna outpower any cast iron head to begin with, because of a ton of additional air flow, but to maximise the gain, it normally takes an additional 1/2 point in compression to overcome the faster heat dissapation of the aluminum, but still is able to run on the same octane
