What does this mean about your remote starter feature? What happened and what did you have to do?@@DIYwithMichaelBorders
@DIYwithMichaelBorders6 жыл бұрын
gnovincejr2 Thanks for watching, great question! Since our Solenoid failed & sent error code to the onboard computer, it then illuminated the Check Engine Light. At this point, the illuminated Check Engine Light deactivates our onboard remote starter...Bummer. In order to get our remote starter to work again, we needed to replace Solenoid. After replacing the solenoid and starting the engine, The new solenoid sent an electrical communication link to the onboard computer which allowed the onboard computer to recognize the new solenoid...which then allowed the onboard computer to turn off the check engine light. At this point the remote starter was now reactivated for normal use. We hope this helps. Nice job! it's Jan.3, 2021 I just did the Exhaust Solenoid { the front one] on my 2014 2.5 Malibu. and I did the Evap Purge Valve that sits just behind the Intake solenoid valve.. HAD Code P0455 [CPV] and a code P0014, so hopefully this fix's it! that 2013 you have has better Electrical conn's on it than the 2014. " Come on GM" why do they do such a crappy job on that stuff ? And the eco start stop function is A piece of Crap ! why did they ever do that? More electronics to go Wrong !!!! I think the Solenoid valves have something to with it. the code reader, reads P0014 and it is Bank 2, cam shaft positioning is Advanced.

Christina Martinez Thanks for the reply! AutoZone is our favorite! 😎👍 What year is your Malibu? What spark plugs did you purchase? Also when you replaced spark plugs, did you apply the dielectric grease to your plug connections?... maybe too much dielectric grease was added... We have done this in the past when replacing spark plugs... we accidentally added way too much dielectric grease to the plugs ....😲...and once we inserted and secured the wires onto the new plugs... The engine ran worse than it did with the old dirty worn out plugs. So we took off the wires and cleaned off all the dielectric grease and then re-secured the wires to the plugs & the engine has run great for two years. Keep us posted! Let’s get this figured out! 😎👍🔧🔩

GOOB THA DON Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your experience. Let’s get this figured out! 😀 A few things come to mind. 1. As you know, your engine requires 3 things in order to start & continue to run efficiently! 1. Fuel 2. Spark 3. Air Since you have a new starter Installed & it’s at least cranking & attempting to start, it’s possible that your starter is not getting the assistance from one of those three items. In most cases, it’s the fuel delivery. It’s possible that fuel is not making it to the cylinders to be ignited by the plugs. It can be clogged injectors or clogged fuel filter. Or your fuel pump has failed...& not sending fuel to engine. It’s also important to check all of your spark plugs and coil’s to verify that they are not burning nor do they have oil on them. If you find this to be the case, we can walk you through the required steps to get that fixed. Let’s also focus on your electrical connections & wiring as well. We recommend doing a thorough inspection of all wiring & electrical connection points that feed to the parts that have been replaced. It’s possible that your electrical connection point came loose from a part...unlikely...however we can’t rule it out. Let’s start there! Keep us posted! Please subscribe to the channel and turn on your KZbin notification Bell that would be awesome thanks again! 😎👍🔧🔩

I have a question I replaced both of my solenoids once and the car continued stalling but there was no check engine light so I thought that maybe the parts were bad so I went and exchange them for two new ones and the car is still doing the same thing what could be the issue? Thank you
@DIYwithMichaelBorders6 жыл бұрын
Slick Rick Da Rula Thanks for watching & sharing your comment. Let’s get this figured out together! As you know, your engine requires 3 things to run. 1. Spark 2. Fuel 3. Air Spark: In the event that your spark plugs have not been changed in a few years it may be a good idea to replace your spark plugs and wires. As the spark plugs age and gather corrosion over the years, the efficient spark will degrade and may cause degraded engine performance. 2. Fuel: At any point your fuel delivery is interfered with or clogged, your engine will experience several issues. It’s possible that you may need to run some fuel system cleaner through your system and hopefully loosen up any gathered gunk on your injectors or inside your fuel pump that is ultimately interfering with your fuel delivery. 3. Air: One of the more commonly forgotten about parts in your engine is your air filter. Your air filter is very important and over the years your air filter can get to a point where it is so clogged that it is constantly causing degraded engine performance and sometimes leading you to think it something else when it’s really as simple as the air filter. Let’s start there. Keep us posted! Please subscribe to the channel and turn on your KZbin notification Bell 🛎 that would be awesome thanks again! 😎👍🔧🔩

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Thank you SO MUCH for the super-speedy response! I greatly appreciate it! Actually, I have a 2013 Dodge Dart that just gave the P0013 code, took a trip to the AutoZone and they found that it is the Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit / Open (Bank 1). I spoke to them this morning and an engine variable timing solenoid would do the trick, then I found your video which seems to support it.. however, I was also told by a friend that it would be camshaft position scanner... for the sake of being thorough, I odered both, but at the moment, this car is so new to me, I can't even figure out how to get the engine cover off to even [get] to the engine and I've worked on engines for other cars no problem. Any further assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

@DIYwithMichaelBorders5 жыл бұрын
igor zamorski Thanks for watching & sharing your question. The P0011 error code is tied to your Solenoid & depending on whether you get the (A) or (B) reference will lead you to which Solenoid to replace. With our specific make, model, & year....the (A) reference is the Intake Solenoid & the (B) reference is the Exhaust Solenoid. Replacing them both at the same time isn’t a bad idea either. 😀 We hope this helps. Let us know if you have any additional questions, we are here to help! @DIYwithMichaelBorders5 жыл бұрын
igor zamorski Thanks for the reply & unfortunately this is an extremely common issue with Chevy engines lately. It’s possible that the oil grade caused your error code. This engine requires Synthetic Oil & if Synthetic Oil is drained & Conventional Oil is added, it may trip the sensor as it is noticing a downgrade in required oil. Hope this helps. Keep us posted! 😎👍🔧🔩
