Unfortunately, it's an industry standard issue! I have had both Ford and Chevy. Ford's customer service is just as bad. In fact awful from my experience and they are having lots of quality issues. I currently have a Ram that I've put 220,000 miles on without any issues so I can't talk about their customer service. Sorry about the headache for you. This isn't how they build and maintain customer loyalty!! I hope you don't have further issues. I've been debating purchasing the zr2 myself as a second truck as well, so it makes me second-guess the decision for sure!! Keep up the great content!!

I would try another GM dealer if you can, I work for a GM dealer up here in canada and we would cover that under the base warranty as it could of been a defect with the part, you truck is still new enough to get that.

Just remove the fins and place a wire mesh to keep debris out. They're there for aerodynamics, basic fuel economy bs for the Z trucks, my 17 Silverado Z71 had them as well and I simply removed the fins since they really don't do anything. Then just ground the sensor, clear the code, and be on your way. You're welcome.

or just get the raptor to where if something goes wrong the dealership will cover it. This is completely lame on how GM wont cover this part..its an offroad vehicle, why would they add this at the bottom to save MPGs makes zero sense.
@TheWolfMatt
@TheWolfMatt 7 ай бұрын
@@sunny8784 Not everyone wants a Raptor (though nice they may be). They're rather impractical unless you're always taking it off-road. Most of the ones I see have never seen dirt in their lives. Hell, my 19 GMC Sierra Denali has seen more mud than most of the Raptors out in my area. For me, the 6.2L in my Denali makes more sense than having my 17 Silverado Z71 as it's more comfortable for the family, has a 12k tow rating, can do plenty of off roading with the tires I have, and gets close to 34mpg on the freeway. Hard to beat in a Raptor for what I paid for it (49k used).
@sunny8784
@sunny8784 7 ай бұрын
@@TheWolfMatt they arent impractical, they have very similar specs to this bugged out chevy. In fact it has 100 more HP and more torque. It has crawl control, various settings identical to the ZR2, if i was going to rate the ranger, colorado or the tacoma, it will be ranger raptor at the top of the list, then the Taco then the ZR2. ZR2 has had major issues and bugs, such as the battery dying with software updates, these louvers, and its surprising on how this colorado cost more. im sorry but its another chevy fail.

Bullshit! stellantis just replaced a new engine with only 2k left on warranty. Then they replaced the tranny for free as well, because it wasn't synched properly when installed. Then they replaced the DPF system for free. So, it isn't all companies and it also has to do with your service writers. They do anything I have asked, and all of my stuff has been modified heavily, from engine to suspension. Chevy and Ford do not honor anything, I know I've been swaying friends to mopar for years!!!

I could go on for an hour typing out all the crazy things they tell me so it can be my fault. The pleather on the door handle has wrinkled up and is splitting as well and they told me "you are wearing lotion on your hands" which I dont think ive ever done in my life. I was trying to buy a zr2 Colorado with the Baja package. MSRP it's a 62k truck. After 3 days of dealing with the sales person and picking out colors and options etc, placing deposit on this $62k truck, that is MONTHS out from delivery, I get to the part where I'm applying for an auto loan through GM. Another more senior sales person walks up to the table and puts down a piece of paper, then proceeds to explain that this already VERY expensive midsized truck is going to be $10,000 over MSRP because the Baja ZR2's are produced in such limited numbers and they only get so many of them. Nevermind that this truck hasn't been delivered and as far as I can tell they're ordering it for me. He claims that it's going to eat into their allotment of this specific trim level. I got up and walked out right then.

They hit you with that just after the point they reeled you in and assumed you'd cave. What you did is the only way to impact them. Walk away. 62k off their monthly quota. I'm sure someone had some 'splainin' to do to the sales manager. No matter what anyone says, they are not flying off the lots. Not many people spending 72k on a truck.

It is BS and some chump with money to burn paid it so they keep doing it. The worst part about it, if you have an issue come up are they going to give you a white glove treatment? Nope. If they were smart, they would find a way to make you be happy to spend that money, create a luxury service experience package that is mandatory on rare cars, home pickup/delivery of vehicle with loaner, etc but nope, they just want to make a cheap buck.

The front grill pretty much covers them from rocks etc so this could very well be a design flaw. I would not pay a dime for that. I think you need a new dealer.. For those saying its his fault for off roading?? This truck is marketed as an OFF ROAD truck. Unless something is broken by negligence it should be designed to hold up under off road conditions

I’d have to disagree. There is a small GM dealership close to my house. Not the closest, but second closest. My last truck was a chevy, and any time I’d walk in…they’d greet me with a smile, handshake and a “hello Mr such and such”. Went in for warranty work, and they touched up the paint on my front bumper and antenna. That dealership is great, truly a 5 star dealership. The bigger dealerships don’t seem to care as much like I am just another guy walking through the door, although they seem to have more qualified technicians working for them as they can pay them the dollars. I’m not saying the techs at big dealerships are “better”, im saying that they took the class to be qualified. Try a small dealership in the future, seems to work out for myself.

Your not nitpicking. I'm done with GM too. 20 years of buying brand new vehicles from GM dealers and I'm done. Customer service is no longer a thing at GM and their dealerships. I'm not abusive on my vehicles like you, and I often have to wait weeks for a warranty diagnosis which means I go weeks with no transportation because rental cars aren't available until a warranty diagnosis is provided by a tech. Why not triage a vehicle like the ER at a hospital? Why does my vehicle have to sit for weeks because appointments are useless? My wife is going to need a new vehicle soon. I have a kid that will be driving soon. That's 2 new vehicle purchases in the very near future. I'm trying to convince my wife to get a 4Runner. She's thinking Wrangler or Bronco. The point is that she's done with GM, too. Whatever we buy our kid when he gets his license won't be a GM. We're done. F GM and their trashy service towards customers.

This is why I don't pay for the extended warranty. They are worthless. You owe more than the truck is worth the lot first day off the lot and then you're paying additional upfront warranty costs that wont cover you anyway. I had a sales person tell me "you know this truck has problems from the factory so you should get the extended warranty to cover the repairs, it will save you money in the long run". So I didn't buy the truck. These companies need to be held accountable for substandard products. I had an 04 Chevy and loved it. Didn't cost me one cent in repairs. You're really better off just riding a bike at this point cause there are no good options. They probably have think tanks comparing their vehicles to the worst out there. "At least ours isn't as bad as theirs". Great business model.

I haven't bought a brand new truck since 2001. I paid 22k. And had it 15yrs with no major problems. In the beginning had a couple small things and Chevy treated me like a king. It's sad to see whats going on these days. And I hear it's with all of them. I refuse to get a new truck and pay the price they want for something that's made cheaper than the old ones and not as dependable. In the last 10yrs it has just got insane in my eyes. So what I did is got a 2004 pre emissions truck and fully restored it for 25k. I'm mean every down to every sensor and bearing and rubber boot. And one step up from factory engine and trans. Basically a brand new truck for 25k that they want 100k for a new one. And mine has was less Bs to go wrong.. as I don't take it to the shop anyways. Because they also are ridiculous. But your right, I don't know how the city folk do it. Must be why everyone is drowning in debt and we are about to see the biggest debt collapse in our lifetime. I'm pushing 50 and have learned from the past. I'm debt free and don't play their games anymore. If everyone would just do the same they wouldn't be able to play games. Just look at this year's Superbowl. The cheapest ticket is 8k. You tell me how a normal man is supposed to take his son to a game. It's insanity. If no one would buy a ticket then the price would come down. But it will probably be full. So they will keep on screwing normal man out of it. It's both the companies fault and the morons among us. Just like this country is. They will keep on pushing until it breaks because people don't stand up anymore and just allow things to go on. It really is a sad world we are in and getting worse by the week. And people just allowed it to get this way. If everyone would of stood up to years ago and just refused the prices and crap service then it would be different. But Chevy just like everything else will keep going until something breaks, until people have had enough. Until people demand to be treated like a king again. But if the look at the way society has completely lost their balls I would say its not going to happen soon.

Its not just GM; its all of them now. Ford has known issues with the Raptors and they claim its nothing until the truck is out of warranty. Doing the service work is terrible. They sell it as an off road machine but god forbid it has dirt on it when it comes in. Toyota is the same way now. You spend a lot of money on a bumper to bumper warranty only to find out there is a laundry list that isn't covered. This vid helps others in pointing out failure points and asking, "is this covered?" and if they say yes, record it or have it written down. That is what I will be doing for the ZR2 Bison. I think its BS that you have a CEL under warranty and you have to pay to get it diagnosed - that is all dealers too.

When I bought my GMC Sierra 13 years ago, they told me just doing a leveling kit would void the entire warranty. Pretty much if you did any modification, your warranty was void.

The warranty on the suspension and CV axles, not the entire truck. Spacer kits wear out ball joints prematurely, can cause the shocks to bottom out at full droop, and wear out CV's prematurely.

Just delete it. You can cut the fins out. A lot of guys have done that. Most just make a wire screen to keep stuff out of the opening. Leave the mechanism and sensors in place and the truck doesn't know the fins are gone.

I purchased a 2024 Chevy ZR2 on Friday July 26th and brought it home. Spots on the driveway Saturday morning due to leaking oil. Returned the truck to the dealership and it has sat there eversince. Going on three weeks and they say that the rear main seal is gone and will need to be replaced (breand new truck picked up with 3 miles on it and returned to the dealer with 200 miles on it). Repairs have not started and it still sits in the dealers lot. BEWARE THis is not a good vehicle.

Have fun with all the problems. I had a 2016 Tacoma and it was a joke. Howling diffs that Toyota refused to fix. terrible transmission tuning. ABS module died. There's a reason why the 3rd gen was rated least reliable midsize truck by CR for liek 3 or 4 years in a row. The new one has a lot more power but if it's as reliable as the new Tundra, the engines will be blowing up left and right lol

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll fare much better with Ford for sure. I'm not sure about Toyota but if you want a vehicle that just runs and you don't see that check engine light, give them a whirl. It seems like all of these companies are making it tougher and tougher to get anything covered under warranty. It's sad because these companies act like we are made of money and nothing on their vehicle that needs fixing like you said cost less than a grand. I wish you luck with the new vehicle. Hopefully GM will pull their head out of their collective backside and cover this for you.

Sorry to hear about the latest truck problems, sure seems like you must really have a shitty dealer. No doubt in my mind the dealer is making that judgement call. No doubt chevy will back that dealers decision. I would be amazed if anyone at chevy knew an anything about this, they may now if there PR people are hawking social media like they should be. Best of luck getting it fixed. I agree with others I would try and find a way to bypass it or rig it so it thinks it’s working.

My question is, why would you put such a part, down low under the front bumper, on a truck that is considered/ classified as an Off Rod Capable truck?!?🥴 The majority of the guys that off road these trucks go thru, you guessed it, mud and water pits. With a plastic part that has a plastic housing, it is a guarantee that something is going to get lodged in between the blades or in the gearing area and cause a mechanical failure of that part. Hell for that case why not make or have a Deere system for it that you plug in to trick the computer and let you go without this crap all together. It has to cost less than replacing it at almost $900

My 2019 Silverado LTZ with only 8100 miles is experiencing Torque Converter Shudder, My Dealership where purchased wanted to charge "Me" $600 - $800 for the Triple ATF Flush (as per TSB first fix). That's B.S. and I went down to the G.M.C. Dealership, They said the Flush is on the Power Train Warranty. They did the same flush for Free. 500 miles later, the Shudder is even worse, New Torque Converter and Valve Body ordered and to be installed on the Warranty. Any further repair will be the entire Transmission changed out. Chevrolet's Theme is "Built Like a Rock", I say "Sink's like a Rock". $70,000.00 Truck can't go past 8100 miles. B.S.

Often times the service dept will upsell the parts that they get from their own parts dept. If it’s a part like the one mentioned on your video, simply check their parts department for the price difference To be honest certain things are covered under the factory warranty and extended warranty The only item I had that wasn’t covered under any of those warranty’s was my battery which didn’t have a full 3 yrs of usage but I bought the battery myself from their parts department and save $100 This issue if it doesn’t get fixed with resetting the computer by clearing the code try to buy the part and replace it yourself

OK... I'm going to do my best to not be condescending but, if Chevy admits to a common problem and refuses to fix it, and if you can afford 3 trucks in 3 years I would be calling some New York scum bag attorney and see if some form of Class Action Suit can be filed. Ive purchased two 2500 HD Duramax Alison trucks. Fortunately, only a couple of small issues that were solved quickly. Ya know, I didn't know about that whole point thing either. I'll bet they play dumb to the whole thing... LOL. Best of luck with your "fixes".

Here's a big problem. Trucks have become way too high-tech. Don't get me wrong. I love technology. But with technology comes problems. So many things can go wrong. Cylinder de-activation, movable radiator cooling vents, high-tech digital bluetooth whatever. It's all expensive and it increases the chances of something breaking. Exponentially! Tech is great, but it comes with a risk. As far as Chevy not standing behind warranty..... believe me, it's always been that way!

I had a 2000 Chevy S10 blazer ZR2 that I bought brand new. It had a lot of electric issues, and no matter which dealership I took it to no one could find the issue. They had all sorts of monitors and meters on it while I drove the vehicle for a few weeks, but it kept blowing fuses and codes and going into limp mode. The end result was me going to a Lemon Law Lawyer and GM buying the vehicle back/taking it off lease and then them giving me a check on top of that. I've had many GM/Chevy products before and since, so it didn't scare me off, it only left a bad taste in my mouth for a while and the next vehicle I bought after that was a Chrysler product, which was technically a Mercedes with a Chrysler body and suspension.

Bobby you ain't complaining too much, we all need to vent, and I don't mind at all. I'm just glad that unlike Chevy, you're finally getting your head out of your ass and ditching the bowtie. Personally I'm a Ford guy but I've been having some issues with my 2018 F150, the 10 speed transmission had to get a rebuild at only 40k miles, at the literal end of my 5 year warranty, just barely made it, as well as bad bearings in my differential. New trucks are garbage in general, they don't make them like they used to. Personally, as much as I love to shit on imports, I would love to see you do a Taco build. Especially if you picked up an older one, but really any Toyota is known for being reliable and that's what you need for your lifestyle.

Same treatment by dealerships always trying to weasil there way out of covering it while it was under warranty, always a argument. Have you tried taking it to someone above them, Like corporate? Or try getting in touch with a T.V consumer reporter they love going after the big corporations, and will not like the bad publicity it brings. Sorry for the rant.
