The Chevy small-block V-8 is an engine that has touched so many lives that, no matter where your car brand loyalty lies, chances are good that you’ve got a personal story about one. It has powered tens of millions of passenger cars, trucks, race machines and boats. Calling it an American icon would not be an overstatement or hype. To celebrate 60 years of this icon, we took one apart and put it back together, and we recorded the process to share with you.

Donny Nice well block work is around 300-700$ then parts if going back original and using your old rods and crank around 500$ You can mostly do a rebuild like this for about 1500$ to 1600$ if your doing the rebuild yourself and only having the machine shop doing the block work.

So why did you have to take the Hemi out for machining but you do the others in house. If one rod is out of tolerance do you replace them all. What are conventions standards for over boring the engine. Can you put sleeves in any block.
@sparkplug1018
@sparkplug1018 4 жыл бұрын
These can take about a .060 overbore without any issues, and you can sleeve just about anything if need be. If one rod or piston for that matter is messed up you can replace just that one and balance it to the rest of the pistons/rods.
