I’m from Ceylon (Sri lanka) where these cinnamon grows and yes there are lots of health benefits from these herbs and we also grow cardamom, nutmeg , cloves ,Vanilla beans and many types of tea you name it we have it all , I love my beautiful country even though I live in America…I miss our little paradise Ceylon it was called but now Sri lanka

What's so strange because just 5 minutes ago I was reading about this coconut oil that is from Sri Lanka but packaged in Canada. It seems like I would really like to live in Sri Lanka because I use all of those herbs.

I buy Ceylon cin. capsules from Sri Lanka !! I've been taking it regularly for about 2 years now & now my husband is on it too. I will try to find these sticks now - I wish I could grow some here.

I’m in the Uk and I just want to say I have so much respect for the farmers of Sri Lanka who rose up against their corrupt WEF influenced government who are trying to steal their land and take away their livelihood. I find it scary the lack of knowledge Western people have of how and where their food is produced and what farmers are up against. It’s happening all over European farms and people are starting to see the effects with price rises and food shortages. Vandana Shiva has always said Bill Gates is not “the peoples” friend and she’s right! ✊🏻

I just wanted to add that I used cinnamon sticks to help me stop smoking about 25 years ago. It was very helpful because it has the little bite to it and it also was helpful with the hand to mouth thing. Anyways that in prayer and I quit that horrible addiction. Thank you so much doctor for all that you do. I've used so many of your different methods and they worked like a charm. Much love to everyone.

@@justme4014 No, you suck on them, I did the same thing, I also sucked on cloves. I smoked over a pack and a half a day. I just quit with the help of cinnamon and cloves.

What works for me is I put a half stick of cinnamon in my coffee pot during brewing. Then transfer it to my cup. You not only get the taste in your coffee, it softens the stick and can be easily chewed and consumed.

Excellent advice. I would add that Organic Ceylon Cinnamon needs to be highlighted at the end of this video (not just cinnamon sticks). So many people are unaware of the major differences and how harmful & toxic regular otc cinnamon can be.

@Sally Aguilar perk in clean water.i boil 4 sticks in a medium size pan..when it turns the color of light coffee, I turn it off to cool. The next day I make my coffee, and use half coffee half cinnamon with I envelope of stevia. Watch your glucose intake everyday..read ALL your grocery labels. If the food contains white sugar? Don't buy it. And again some food has sugar especially processed sugar and restuarants use sugar, as well for sauces. Cereals. Syrups.

Definitely works, you will not think about food at all. I literally didn’t eat until 545 pm the following day! No fatigue, dizziness or headaches. I felt great, even after an hour workout.

I used to remember Cinnamon gum before all the additives and sweeteners went into them. There were many spice type chewing gums back then, even licorice.

I remember that too! The cinnamon gum was called "Big Red", and the licorice one was " Blackjack". Also, there was one called "Teaberry" that was for digestion. All 3 were sold as medicinal remedies.

yeay I can do this! It’s been surprisingly hard to turn my diet around since caring for my senior mother. She eats junk and i’ve picked up her bad eating habits. Mentally and physically drained I just give in 😣 ugh! She lives with me and is so stubborn about changing her habits so junk food is now in my house which doesn’t help. I love your good health tips and comments. Especially the one you gave for enclosing and cleaning arteries with garlic, Apple, turmeric, black, pepper, cayenne, pepper, fresh lemon juce, some apple cider vinegar and a half cup of water. Now because of your tips, I have added honey as a touch of sweetener. And now cinnamon. Dr. I have had an open heart surgery double bypass and aorta valve transplant. In June of 2022 after some scans ant other tests angiogram the specialist noticed something I went to the hospital to possibly have some stints put in place. To everyone's The Dr. As well as the technicians a completely clogged artery had opened. Your elixir or some mericle. I personally believe that your morning smoothie routine. Had something to do with it. The Mericle was coming across your channel at just that time. I have made some adjustments to your original recipe as to the amounts of the ingredients and made it a full-on morning smoothie. Like half a large banana and some green-leaf kale. Possibly you could re-introduce this amazing morning drink. P.S. I'm 70 years old and I must say since I started this ritual I have so much more energy. Thank you. Stay safe, healthy and happy

Yes, they made cinnamon sticks that looked like toothpicks, and we would chew on them..Had no idea they were healthy! Loved them!

@@rubywatkins8907 As a child we would buy these cinnamon toothpicks at our local pharmacy. I’d order around 6 six for a couple of cents. The cashier would take the soaked toothpicks directly out of the cinnamon oil and place in tiny wax paper pockets. Cinnamon is the taste of my childhood. :D

***QUESTION: From the vid it looks like the stick doesn't disintegrate, but in reality it does...completely. 1) Is it meant to be chewed into tiny pieces and spit out? or 2) Are the tiny pieces and bits meant to be swallowed? or 3) Am I missing something else? (btw, i've read that it's actually dangerous to eat cinnamon sticks.).

I didn't learn from Indian culture but I have brought a few ppl out of the hospital... here's a feather for your hat: 1st boil 16 ounces of water with a tablespoon of cloves; use green or black tea, 1 teaspoon ceylon cinnamon, 1teaspoon turmeric, optional sweetener: Monk fruit sugar, if you just have to 3-5 packets mix for about 3-5 minutes, most sugar comes out your blood thru bowel movements, and eat cayenne pepper on your food like you would use salt( blood pressure/ sugar control) had a family member released out of the hospital just today 10/23/2022, went in blood pressure was 227/123; released blood pressure 122/63...gave my cayenne pepper chili recipe all is 👍 thus far...

Yes. I remember when in India that people had a little mix of seeds eg cardamon + also included bits of cinnamon. They would chew this for enjoyment and fresh breath but I'm sure for medicinal purposes also.

Get Ceylon cinnamon sticks . I found some today at a health food store . 35 gram bag for 10 dollars . 🇨🇦💞the sticks should be flaky when u chew . Regular cinnamon sticks are like wood , hard to chew . Make sure it says Ceylon cinnamon from Sri Lanka

Hi Doctor, I have this habit of chewing Cinnamon in my childhood. I used to steal cinnamon sticks from pantry everytime I go to the kitchen. Recently I got the cravings for cinnamon. You are definitely right. I love the aroma and I used to suck the juices of the stick and when it become soft, I will chew and swallow it. I can say that I don’t feel any cravings for food and my tummy feels full and I don’t feel hungry anymore. I was eating cinnamon without its benefits. Now I can take it without doubts. Strange fact: As a kid, I only liked sweets that contained cinnamon...I LOVED everything cinnamon! Must have been my body's internal wisdom that guided me in such a way ;-)

Thank you Dr. Mandell! Easy to find cinnamon sticks, but not labeled as Ceylon Cinnamon sticks. So, it may be a bit more difficult to find in grocery and even health food stores. Maybe online is best.

When I was a kid, we always chewed on cinnamon sticks instead of having snacks ( no snacks available back then). BUT, one of the side effects wss nose bleeding. I am not sure what was the mechanism , nevertheless, please be careful with ingesting too much of the cinnamon.

Nose bleeding is because of it's heating property...you can have 1 cm long cinnamon stick ....drink plenty of water to overcome the heat In India we use cinnamon along with clove on daily basis for many cuisines

That’s because they thin blood. So eat in moderation. People on blood thinners should stay away from cinnamon, cloves etc

I am going to try this . I have been taking capsules. My doc just told me she wants to put me on one of those meds advertised on tv. I told her no, the side effects are not good. Her only complaint was they might cause yeast infections. There are a host of other possible problems you can experience. I keep telling her I want to take care of the reason not mask the problem for taking prescription meds. I really appreciate all the information Dr Mandell gives us every day. Hello Doc!😁. Great and useful info as usual. God bless you! I don't know if my experience with cinnamon is unique or maybe it's the specie available in my country. Bear with me while I explain. I initially hated cinnamon. Couldn't stand the smell. Then I watched one of your videos and decided to revisit it because I've been diabetic for quite a while now. I initially tried cassia though I didn't know that was what it was. I thought cinnamon was cinnamon.😀. It was crazy hot!, Sometimes causing a burning sensation in my throat, I need to breath out of my mouth when I chew it, causes me extreme dry mouth, sometimes my teeth hurt. But with all this, it significantly lowers my blood sugar. Then I watched another of your videos and learnt about ceylon and how it's better for my liver so I switched. It's bloody expensive in my country! I absolutely hate the taste and smell. It's way too mild and powdery. Not sweet at all. I find myself craving the cassia despite all the horrors of chewing it😅. But I guess the best way to go would be to stick with the Ceylon for my livers sake🤷

I will have to try chewing these sticks. I already use cinnamon in my tea, food, and before I go to bed at night. Chewing will also help keep everything fresh in my mouth between brushing. Thank you and God Bless you..

If you are planning to eat cinnamon sticks buy the Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks. It is healthier, easier to eat, and does not have a strong cinnamon flavor, so it makes it more enjoyable to eat. Also if you are going to use it for cooking, or to add to food the Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks are not hard, so it is easier to break by hand, and grind.

I am doing it since my childhood, we call it Darchini,it is avery essential part of our everyday cooking,it's one of the main ingredient of Garam Masala , a spice mix we always use in nonveg cooking. Guess what I am an Indian !

Please make sure you have Ceylon sticks and not cassia cinnamon as the cassia can cause liver issues due to high levels of coumarin.

What brand did you buy & where. I got some Organic Ceylon sticks from Sri Lanka & they are easy to bite off a piece& chew but mild not spicy. Kind of disappointed in that. Hope you'll get back to me. Thanks.

We only buy Organic Ceylon cinnamon. We get Frontier brand at local natural food store. But it is ground not sticks. We sprinkle over coffee grounds before brewing, sprinkle over toast spread with coconut oil, sprinkle on organic oatmeal and on cold cereal. Also sprinkle in blender when I make healthy smoothies.
