This book feels like a very cathartic, well written homage to everyone who has sat in an empty room or an empty apartment in the dark and cried for people not worth their tears. I am very excited to feel my heart break again, this time not for myself or a relationship, but for everyone who can relate to the thoughts and feelings you've lain bare for everyone. I will be ordering this ASAP and expect to swallow it whole in a single night, then again and again 🥰

I'm more of a fantasy adventure kinda gal myself, and i read these types of stories very rarely, but you've convinced me. I already kind of wanted to read this book, because i like your videos and after seeing you talk about films i figured it would probably be good, but after listening to this i am set on buying this book. I really liked the "i can do better than that" bit. I felt that cringe. Also i just enjoyed the video. It was really calming.

This reminds me of when I was younger, not too young maybe 8 or 9 years old and didn’t feel well because of anxiety, I’d curl up next to my nana, and she’s read to me until I fell asleep. She hasn’t done so in many years, as she’s getting older and it’s harder for her to do things now, but I digress. This has the same kinda aura of that, and for some reason it brought me to tears. I just feel so comfortable and safe, especially during this dark time. Well done, Hazel. This is beautifully written and thank you for using your platform for this. xo

I just watched the book release video with Dodie and this is THE book - meaning the first book I pick up in a while for more than a school assignment and something more meaningful than words and pages. Thank you Hazel for the work you did to create a masterpiece and somewhere were all of us who are hurt can be soothed and felt validated in the feelings which we know a form of. Thank you!

This was so pleasant, very excited for tomorrow’s video. The simile with the wagon was really smart, because the analogy actually led somewhere with the stitched on smile as a metaphor for pretending to be content. Also, the detail with the sheets tied the narration together nicely and was really memorable.
