I can. It is very possible one three chases with two loss of visual contact, they have the wrong person who is just scared and had a warrant for a traffic ticket so runs. (I am putting on the hand of a defence lawyer here.) I can see the point of independent investigation after a shooting and even then the camera may not make it clear who shot first. Also, I think the officer did well but oversight is needed certainly since the suspect is no longer speaking.
@joshcarter-com10 ай бұрын
@@lauxmyththat’s sound logic. Another possible explanation is officers are worried about judgement after the fact, for example that oversight board insisting he should’ve tried nonlethal first. If I were a cop I’d certainly be worried about my every action being analyzed and judged afterwards, with the possibility of catching criminal charges if somebody thought I didn’t do everything just right.
@lauxmyth10 ай бұрын
@@joshcarter-com True and yet we do all live in a world where all actions may be judged by others after the fact. For police this mean each arrest and certainly every shooting is judged by others. I like some level of investigation and oversight and yet that can sway into having inexperienced people on those boards and some do not like any action done by any officer -- as they work M-F 9-5 inside. Political types need to be certain such investigations are done by qualified people who know and appreciate the pressures on officers in very short time frames.

This cop went above and beyond to peacefully stop the guy. WAY more effort than most other cops would.

Definitely a justified shooting, however the officers actions leading up to that had me shaking my head. A taser one on one with an armed suspect is terrible choice to begin with, especially from that distance. “Drop the gun and I’ll let you go” is completely inappropriate to say, and had he actually done that would’ve violated his oath, but to not do it and lie violates community trust. The fact that that officer couldn’t jump the fence or keep up with the suspect is also ridiculous. I am a huge supporter of LE and normally give officers a lot of grace, however I’ve seen so much bad work from CPD and this is more, it’s a huge testament to what that department has become thanks to the city leadership.

Better than him shooting without giving the suspect chances like cops would in your backwoods town
@philmeop121510 ай бұрын
Wow!!! That is an outstanding officer right there. He tried his best. The suspect kinda looked like a kid, all the officer wanted to do was save a kids life with a little reform (even though Chicago prisons Don't do that.. complete opposite). Somewhat risky, but he went above and beyond. Salute 🫡

If y'all want uncensored videos I'd suggest asking the channel to run via membership. And rev is the only reason these channels exist. Nobody doing foias and editing for free.

I am sickened by this bureaucratic process of virtually placing the officer in custody after the shooting. It is almost screams guilty until proven innocent.

Great work, glad you can make it home safe. FYI whenever something like this happens with somebody's elevated adrenaline they might not realize that they were hit I would have at least inspected him to make sure that he wasn't hit. But otherwise awesome work Sergeant.

This officer did everything he could to avoid the shooting. He told him to drop it and he'll let him go. Chased him 3 times. Tried to tase him. Then gets shot at around the corner and they put him in the back of the police car.
