So just heard he's finally retiring at 78 because of his health. I hope someone buys his business and continues the tradition. Pretty amazing just him and his wife ran that place by themselves for all those years.

Wow - this is one of the rare episodes where the host (Ted Brunson) isn't getting ripped in the comments section. The first 4 seasons of "Chicago's Best" with Ted and Brittney Payton as the hosts were by far the best.

I’m a Michiganian and went here once. It was after Burt passed, sadly, but it was still the same. I hope it’s still around. It was the best non New Haven pizza I ever had. I hope it’s still there.

Bad news while I never made in before it was too late, he retired and has been dead for now 4 years if you can believe it. But it must have been nice to have gotten to go in, knowing that you had a reservation, and order placed and you didn't have to wait 30 minutes or longer, before your pizza was on your table, you could get there 5 minutes, and your reservation time was when your pizza would be right on the table done and you can eat..

I don't understand how I could be from Skokie and had never heard of Burt's... However! I've always liked the nearby Gulluvers... And Burt is 'Gulliver'! Now I'm Pizza deprived in England. Must buy a pizza oven!

Don't feel bad. I'm from Morton Grove (since 1962) and I just recently heard of Burts.

@@johnc3601 Now why didn't we know? I went to St. Paul's woods all the time and went to the Chinese place blah blah blah. I used to love that corner because I would picture the early people of Tessville or whatever it was called- the early Germans out that way... never saw Burts. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

1. This guy died 2 years ago. 2. The rules have changed under the new owner. 3. You go shove it. This place is super small.

David McCretton Nor would I ever call a place more than 3 times to get food. I can guarantee that pizza isn't worth the hassle to eat it.

People in Chicago say it's the best but I've never been there
@RyanJ50410 ай бұрын
I assure you it's amazing. I try to get it every time I go to Chicago, and that's after trying some of the other places that are considered among the best.
