I think a lot of the time the announcements are a bit of a long shot and meant to get some traction going for further funding and research. Sometimes they're a complete scam job and that's why they vanish as soon as a little money rolls in, but I think most times they're just starting out and not sure if their preliminary work is even going to be possible let alone practical. Something might come up that makes the whole thing collapse like a house of cards, or all kinds of hurdles get in the way and render it an "Oh well we tried this way and it didn't pan out." Sometimes like in my own mad science pursuits, that just means it didn't work out NOW, but as with a lot of my stuff it just meant it needed four more damned years before the "big" payoff finally arrived. I can't speak for scientific advancement in a lab run by 30 people, but I am very familiar with blowing 20 years on a maybe-dream before it really turns into a reality that impresses me. For me, it's been a very long ladder climb getting to where I am now, each step building a new foundation to keep climbing on as my many projects slowly evolve or get shelved, which spawns new projects based on what I've learned along the way. It's... tedious. 🤣

Why would I want to live to 150 years old only to spend 60 to 80 years of it in a nursing home because of any one or several of the above illnesses 0:01 I’ve named? Who would pay for it? My son had his own tissue regenerated for knee surgery about 10 years ago. They took a sample and grew it in a petri dish over a few months, then covered it with his own tissue (skeletal sack material) and implanted the finished product. The biggest problem with this method is no weight bearing for at least 6 weeks, along with constant movement of the knee via a machine that keeps it in motion, so it doesn't lock up while you sleep. He will eventually need a knee replacement, but this was a better option for an active person in their 30s.

For what it's worth in case you end up needing hip replacement surgery: I got a left THR done 10 years ago at age 40 (no injury, just abnormally high wear and tear/arthritis at an abnormally young age). It was life changing. No more pain, I could sleep through the night again without hurting, and I'm still as active as I want to be. The biggest change that's limiting is I'm in the joint preservation business for the rest of my life: any amount of running and jumping on a hard surface is naturally going to shorten the lifespan of the replacement. But I do other things... I have passed 2 belt tests in Krav Maga (Israeli martial art) which is a pretty intense activity, and I ride my bike, including light trail riding...All with a total hip replacement. So my experience has been great. Best of luck to you!

This is important news for those who have suffered the devastating side effects of fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Avalox and more). These effects ravage the joints, cartilage, collagen and connective tissues systemically. Treatments are few. This article gives me hope.

Wow you dont have a clue. Those antibiotics are largely benefical which is why they got FDA approval. Cipro saved a lot of people from a host of diseases and Levaquin has saved many more. Misuse of those antibiotics is only from those who are like those who cant read a study result. You should not rely on MDs as they arent scientists, you as a patient have a responsibility to know what ails you and how to fix it. If you dont you will be at the mercy of those in medicine. This is an american phenomenon, in Italy which has a longer tradition of medicine those there say you dont give up your rights when you are a patient you have to know how to assert them ..You are relying on clueless journalists to give you scientific information, that shows at what level you are at and so because you have no STEM background you are at the mercy of those who have some college level science courses but you need more than degrees to do anything. You have to have an imagination to be a real scientist and ask the right questions. IF you want to know what is going on in science READ the Journals SCIENCE Or Nature or just listen to a Nature Podcast its free!!! I just posted about cartilage regeneration which has already had human trials, READ MY post which was to put those at WGN on notice they dont know what they are doing. They didnt do their homework. They didnt even have the sense to query google properly and read the scientific literature!

In it, they described a procedure to rasp/scrape the bone area to cause the body’s healing process. At a particular point (4-6 weeks) into the healing process, the patient is given medication that inhibits the formation of scar tissue and results in producing new cartilage. But as we all know, whatever procedure(s) get approved, only the rich will benefit for a long time. No insurance company will cover an “experimental” elective procedure. This is so hopeful. I started to see the changes and how hard it gets to keep the posture as I work hard, I was a nanny for 10 years and besides pinched nerves and things that hurt on daily basis I am really worried of how much I worn my body already. I also got into a premature menopause in my late 30ties, and now, a decade later, I'm a candidate for the osteoporosis, so anything that could help to prevent or fix bone injuries and chronic pain I face already, would be highly appreciated.

Research: boron, vit.D, vit. k (both kinds), calcium (bio-available kind) for osteoporosis. Use the National Institute of Health (NIH) library for studies on various diseases/conditions and what supplements are effective. Will NOT see this in mainstream publications/media-you know who opposes this-just think of what industry produces PATENT protected medicines based in synthetics. Try chiropractors who utilize spinal decompression tables-quite effective for my brother who was in constant pain.

Ya know, I hear stories just like yours CONSTANTLY and it makes me really sad. WTF is going on? Why is everyone falling apart? Everyone and their dog has lupus, Ehlers Danlos, thyroid problems, arthritis, early menopause, hair loss, infertility, cancer, autism, etc. It’s not normal and it wasn’t like this before. I think we have allowed illness to reach a dangerous level of profitability. It’s like we are being deliberately made ill so that we can be farmed by the medical industrial complex. Have you ever done a 2 day water fast? ALL the inflammation goes away. It’s insane and it makes me wonder wtf have they done to the “food” supply. And I’m someone that eats healthy and cooks my own food! Anyway, if you’re dealing with chronic pain, please research Low Dose Naltrexone. It’s really helping a LOT of people, it’s cheap and since it’s such a minuscule dose the side effects are minimal.

I'm going on 41 this October 3rd. I live with ehlers danlose syndrome which is a defective collagen disorder. The result, extreme hyper flexibility, elastic skin, but also very loose joints that jam and sprain easily during sports and physical activities. Cartilage and ligament are made up of collagen. My joints hurt a lot and try to pop out easy, but I endure it and live life to the fullest while trying to avoid injuries. One belt away from black belt in taekwondo which has taken me three times as long to get to do to frequent joint injuries and multiple epilepsies but I am almost there!
